Comments about Numark M101USB 2-Channel DJ Mixer with USB:
So I got this mixer as part of my budget DJ set and.......its not bad, but its not excellent, its good enough basically. So far, I've had no issues with it.
It sucks that it doesn't have a Mid EQ control, only Bass and Treble, but like I said, good enough. I like the fact that it doesn't come with effects. Its targeted to beginner DJs and beginner DJs have a tendency to abuse effects soooo much. This'll teach em to get used to the basic first, THEN possibly add effects to your mix.
It comes with a USB to record your mixes so thats good. Just download Audacity (Freeware) and in the settings, change the input to the USB Codecc. Just remember to turn the input volume all the way down to .1. I dunno why but I just tried recording for the first time and it amps and distorts the sound so much. Its still a bit distorted on 0.1 input volume, but this could possibly be cause its USB. I dunno for sure.
Other than that, I'd only recommend this to the very, very beginner DJs on a tight budget or...possibly a backup mixer. No, a backup for the backup's backup mixer. Yeah, that makes sense.
