OVERVIEW

This combo stand/seat/footrest takes the shakes from your legs and the stress off your back.

Now with a fold-down footrest, you'll have a comfortable place to rest your foot while supporting your guitar, bass, or banjo on your knee. Between sets, simply place the guitar in the handy, padded cradle for safekeeping. The StagePlayer II is ideal for home use too-it's a place to sit and play or just to display.

My guitar room/studio is a tiny 9 X 13 feet, and so space is at a premium. I bought 3 of these mainly because I can fold them up to free up floor space when not in use, and in that vein the built-in stand also eliminates the need for (and clutter of) a separate guitar stand for each player. I also use one when playing solo; and even if I have to bring my amp, I can bungie cord this to my gig bag and still be able to carry everything I need in one trip.
Well constructed, space-efficient, light wieght and portable. I'm very happy with these stools!
It's a stool to park your butt on with a built-in folding guitar stand and foot rest. Very functional, but nothing real fancy. (My middle-aged rear end would maybe like a bit more padding on the seat, but I guess that's more a 'me' issue than a product deficiency!)
I think the question is going to be how they hold up over time. The guitar supports were slighty askew on mine, but were easily (very carefully) bent to proper alignment. Overall, they do seem to be well constructed.
While not particularly cheap, but you are getting a stool and a stand together, and their light weight and portability are a definite plus.

I've had this for three years with no problems until now. There will be no more problems. Right now it is a twisted mess of scrap on my front porch due to poor welds. Judging by my own experience tonight and after having read some of the other reviews, if you weigh in excess of 180lbs you should get rid of it before you get hurt. I'll see how I feel in the morning after cracking my head on a chair behind me and nearly wrecking my favorite guitar in my hands.

Well built, quick to use, easy to use, nice to have chair and guitar holder to be the same. If they could somehow add a back support it would be perfect.

Comments about Alfred StagePlayer II - Guitarist Stool and Stand with Footrest:

Great idea, especially the small metal latch that secures the seat. Only drawback was the padded guitar-support legs which don't stay up out of the way while playing. Equipment cord catches and tangles. Seems like they could have added some plastic catches like the ones on the bottom of those cheap TV-dinner trays we used to have.

Comments about Alfred StagePlayer II - Guitarist Stool and Stand with Footrest:

Great for performing live or home use as well. This little ingenious piece of work eliminates the need for a stand alone guitar stand; thus eliminating an extra piece of stage gear to transport both directions. I had read of concerns with the structural strength, but I weigh 187 lbs plus the weight of my guitar and have not experienced any problems in this area. The seat padding is not a heavy padding but that is not a problem with me as I do not foresee using it for more than 1 hour endurance at a time.

Comments about Alfred StagePlayer II - Guitarist Stool and Stand with Footrest:

The only thing I didn't think of was that with the guitar in the stand, you can't sit on the stool.
This stool is very stable with my 240 pounds and 10 pound guitar. Surprisingly stable. The foot rest is excellent even though it's in the way of folding up the guitar pegs. Might be better if it were on the other side. But, it works fine as is. It's the best stool I've ever used on stage and with many years of using a separate guitar stand, the stand is one less thing to carry in and out.
One caution, a 10 pound guitar sat on the outside of the pegs will tip the stool. It could use a re-design to allow for a thin solidbody closer to the stool legs.

Great Stool/stand - Not for Short People

Comments about Alfred StagePlayer II - Guitarist Stool and Stand with Footrest:

I bought this chair for my mother. It's a great idea, and it would be perfect for a taller person. But she and I are only 5'0" tall, and this stand is too high to comfortably use as intended. My father cut a part each leg of the stool off as much as possible, but it's still too high. This stand/stool would be great if the height was adjustable.

Aside from that, the whole concept is nice. It folds quickly and holds the guitar nicely. The foot rest seems sturdy. And it's very light. It's just not shorty friendly.
