OVERVIEW

Gives your tremolo 3 modes of operation.

The Allparts Tremol-No is a patented device that is added to an electric guitar equipped with a tremolo/vibrato unit. It allows guitarists 3 playing options:

1) tremolo unit "on" - in this position your tremolo functions as normal. You can raise or lower the pitch of notes with the tremolo unit.
2) tremolo unit "off" - in this position, you'll enjoy the benefits of a hardtail bridge, where the tremolo unit doesn't move at all; no lowering or raising of a note's pitch via the tremolo system, and the other strings remain in tune should you break one of them.
3) tremolo unit "dive only mode" - in this position, you can only lower the pitch of notes. If you break a string or drop tune the low E to D, the other strings will stay in tune.

The Tremol-No comes in three versions: Pin-type (our sku# H71947), Clamp-type-large, (our sku# H71957), and Clamp-type-small (our sku# H71941). Please see the "Tremol-no works with chart" document attached for details on choosing the right one for your tremolo.

I have an ibanez with a double locking edge iii tremolo. I used the tremelno with it and it says what it does perfectly, locks tuning well. I was amazed at how well it stayed in tune. Also i could play double stops now and have increased sustain.

But, it does come with some hardware tech hitches. For one, when you are in dive only mode you need to loosen the 2 screws at the bottom of the part, but they rattle and make noise in the guitar, and with enough playing force can fall out, so you must take them out completely and store them somewhere.

Very small thing but another is everytime you change tunings in dive only mode you must dive your trem once after you've tuned to get rid of the tremelno rattling, has something to do with tension.

The instructions it came with were very vague, so setting up was confusing at times, had to resort to youtube. Also no manual on how to use the tremelno, you have to go online.

To begin, I would like to state that I am NOT NEW to guitar repair, mods and setup. I have over 30 years of experience in shops as a repair tech.
I purchased 2 of these and put them on my Floyd equipped guitars. They do mostly what is claimed by the manufacturer....EXCEPT......they rattle terribly at certain frequencies. It's very loud and you can hear unplugged and thru the amp.
I have checked my installation repeatedly and I know that I'm doing it correctly and according to instruction.
I have called and emailed Kevan many, many times about this and he does not respond at all. I have been very polite and haven't acted impatient or like a jerk to him. I have tried no less than 10 times to get support or even just a reply.
If you do a google search, you will see that there are many folks having the same issue. If there is indeed a fix or some sort of secret to get the rattle to stop, the company certainly isn't giving it up.
I'm very typically very understanding and try to deal with people in the manner which I would like to be dealt with myself. I really don't like leaving negative feedback about people, but I just can't get my head around why no one returns my emails or calls.
I do think this product has the potential to be great if they work out the issue(s). It's just a shame that they don't feel like they need to take care of customers.

It works perfectly. I can drop D very easily with the added EVH d-tuna. I got the tremol-no so I could do alternate tunings, with the Roland guitar synthesizer gr-20.

These are just amazing! If you have a trem you need to get these on your guitar. The improvement in tone and sustain is mind blowing and the tuning stability is out of this world. They make touring a breeze since you can lock them in place and just make small neck adjustments as the climate changes. I have no idea why I didn't get these sooner.

        Great material.

Comments about Allparts Tremol-No Tremolo Locking Device - Small Clamp:

As mentioned, this thing does what it says it will on the tin. You have a floating trem? Don't want a floating trem anymore? Here's your answer. As a disclaimer, I'm just a hobbyist guitar player, so I'm not even entirely sure how the thing works. All I know is that it does. Once this thing is installed, go wild with your tuning, just because you can!

The only thing I have against it is, for me personally, it was a bad experience trying to install. If you've worked on guitars before, I'm sure it'll be nothing for you, but I needed to take it up to the local shop to get mine properly done. The one tutorial I found on it was only helpful to a certain point, and the included instructions are "there" at best.

All that aside though, I'd give the Tremol-No my full recommendation. I was a little nervous spending this much money on a part for a guitar that I only play once every few days to begin with, but after it was installed I was immediately happy with the purchase. If you play it more than I do, I can only imagine you'll be even happier. Give it a shot.

Comments about Allparts Tremol-No Tremolo Locking Device - Small Clamp:

Hands down awesome! The Tremol-no was very easy to set-up (as long as you have had some experience with adjusting a vibrato set-up). I installed mine with E standard tuning on my Dean DCR ML Black Chrome that has a Floyd Rose 1000 (basically the exact same as a Floyd Rose Original but made in Korea for those that may not know). The different settings (blocked, dive-only and full-floating) work great with no flaws except maybe for a very, very minor pitch change when you do an alternate tuning on dive-only or blocked and then tune up again and switch back to full floating. I have not owned it for very long so I can't review its ability to endure a long amount of time, but I have had it on blocked with an Eb standard tuning for almost two weeks and the tuning is impeccably accurate. The only other flaw in the Tremol-no would be the limited space you have to fit your fingers and tighten the screws when changing modes. If you are looking to buy one of these, get it! It is more than worth what you pay for it. And a helpful hint: when doing alternate tunings on blocked mode I only tighten the nut clamps with my fingers to keep it in tune.

Comments about Allparts Tremol-No Tremolo Locking Device - Small Clamp:

So I got small clamp tremol-no so I could put my RG570 in drop D without having to balance all the tuners and to give it more of a hardtail feel. When it comes to just hardtail mode the Tremol-no works great it's just when it is in dive only or free float that it will not return to pitch. If you dip the whammy bar flat the bridge returns flat with the tremol-no set to free float and if you pull the bar sharp it returns sharp. The instructions say to experiment with the screws that hold the claw piece where the springs attach but that did not help it stay in tune, it just either made it return more sharp or more flat but there was no happy middle. This is because the way the sliding part of the tremol-no rubs against the receiving arm at an angle. The angle being how far the bar is towards the front of the guitar where the strings are and back where the plastic back cover would be. I tried adjusting my bridge height as well but there is always some angle causing friction because the tremolo doesn't move forward or backward is pivots which causes some friction. With minimal use this isn't too bad, but I play along with music so it always ends up throwing everything off if I use the tremol-no. Also there is no flutter when in free float mode and flutter is one of the cool effects you can make with a tremolo so I decided to uninstall the unit and just deal with the trem and I realized switching to drop D doesn't take that much tweaking but obviously during a live set you'd want another guitar or this device if you never use your trem. Also the manufacture claims you'll notice a difference in tone. You won't. I'm sure there must be some change but it isn't noticable. On the plus side double stops are easier. I'm giving this such a low rating since it doesn't do free float mode well or allow flutter and that is what it was marketed to do and fails to do.

Didn't work. I use .008 gauge detuned 3 frets with drop B and this just didn't work at all. When loosened, it was always dragging and I could pull the bar up and let go and all the strings would stay sharp instead of return back to the correct pitch. Perhaps for someone using .009s and 3 springs it might work.

Comments about Allparts Tremol-No Tremolo Locking Device - Small Clamp:

The main reason I got this was that I have a Floyd Rose that came stock on my SE custom. Great tremolo, but due to it being a full floating one when I bend enough (like a double stop bend) takes the other strings out of tune just a tad while holding the bend.
I also just installed a D-tuna to be able to drop it into D without unlocking the nut; when engaging the D-tuna, the floating trem would cause the D-tuna to be in contact with the body. So I ended up settling on this tremol-no as a good compromise to fix both problems and still retain the ability to use the trem if I wanted to. It does exactly that! Setup was not complex (I have decent experience doing the intonation and setup on my guitars if that helps gauge it for you). The most time consuming part of setup is the fine adjustment of getting the replacement claw in the right spot since it takes a little bit of trial and error to get the trem to sit where you get your desired action, etc. All in all it took me probably right at 45 minutes, that includes rounding up tools, watching installation video, etc. There is no permanent modification, unless you count cutting the ground wire from the old claw and attaching it to the new claw (via screw). Once I got the tremol-no set up, I set it to "hardtail" mode which locks the trem completely. Even unplugged, I noticed the side effect of improved resonance and sustain, and I verified that the trek really was locked, couldn't dive bomb or pull up. Reinstalled D-tuna and it works like a charm now! Couple of tips:
                                  1. Make sure the tremol-no shaft is as parallel to the middle spring as possible before tightening the clamp (in tremolo on mode, it will bind some or make a slight popping sound when you string bend if it isn't since the shaft will be at a slight angle and not allow smooth travel of the tremol-no unit)
                                  2. Before installing the "receiver" (the metal tube with the clamp that slides over the shaft), put a light coating of WD40 in the tube
                                  Cheers!

I have had no good luck with this tremol-no. Sure it fits fine and was easy to install but that is it. It doesn't work and the tremolo still floats and slides all over the place then gets stuck out of tune. It doesn't lock well and when the screws are tightened it puts the whole guitar out of tune again. You're better off using the wood block method or just buying a new guitar.

The trem-no has 3 modes. I use it in the dive only mode on an Ibanez s model. Makes tuning much easier because the sensitive tremolo isn't moving when I use the fine adjusters.

This thing is a must have IMHO. Even if you leave it free-floating, just being able to easily lock the tremolo position when you change strings is worth the cost!

Take your time putting it in and make sure you line it up correctly. It took me less than 15 minutes!

I put a tremol-no on my PRS Terero. The initial set is simple, but the fine tuning is horrible. I had issues with the tuning going flat or sharp "every time" id touch the tremolo. Almost returned it then gave it another chance. After 2 days and a lot of tweaking it finally kept in tune. It functions awesome. Does what it says. Ill always have one on my Floyd Rose equipped guitars from now on.

I own a 94' Fender 50's HRR Stratocaster w/an Original Floyd Rose Tremolo that I rarely ever used these days as I had become frustrated w/the Floyd. I never learned how to properly set up a Floyd and honestly never was much for dive bombing and whammy tricks. I was considering selling the Strat but, still loved the look of the guitar and especially loved the feel of the neck. While searching the internet for tutorials on setting up Floyds, I came across a video review of the Tremol-no. After viewing several videos on the product and searching on line forums for user opinions, I decided to give it a shot and order one from MF. Well, I found the installation quite easy for someone like myself who is not a guitar tech and the product itself was well made. I made final tuning adjustments, removed the locking nut and "watta ya know" I've got a hard-tail that I'm enjoying playing again. The Tremol-no works as advertised and not only am I keeping my Strat but, I'll be buying another Tremol-no for my 96' Fender Strat w/standard tremolo! Great product and the service and selection that I've come to expect from Musicians Friend has yet to fail me.
