Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

This is a very large bass drum patch. If you want a ton of muffling on your batter head (i.e. Looking for that "slappy/thuddy sound), this patch could be a great option. However, if you are buying this mainly to protect your batter head, the Remo option is smaller and will likely change the sound of your bass drum head much less.
Nevertheless, the Aquarian patch looks great and sounds great. I'm not unhappy with the sound it produces on my bass drum, the sound is just different than it was before applying the patch. Next time, I will buy the Remo patch.

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

Want to make the most out of your drum head? This patch will protect it. One of the best things I've found to protect my drum heads when doing fast bass beats. It's cheap and will make your bass batter head last longer. You may want to take in consideration that since this does protect very well, it is thick, which will alter the sound of your bass drum slightly. I love it and this is the only patch I will buy, ever.

Please note that just like any sticker or patch you will need to clean the surface area of the drum first. If you do not, it will not stick long as would anything with adhesive...

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

these are completely and utterly indestructible. i put one on my sonor batter head when i bought the kit new in 1992! the pad has survived 20 years of hard clubbing! and it allowed the head to live that long. i just retired it (i was bored with it- it would probably last another 20years).
very heavy material. good adhesive. not sure how drastically it changes your sound (i didn't do a before/ after comparison).
          durable. see below.
a lot lot cheaper than new heads.

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

Apparently I put mine on correctly. I have had the same aquarian super kick II head and this kick pad since december of 2003, and its still going strong. buy this one, not the evans one or the remo one. this is the best

          Aquarian Kick Pad

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

These are the best kick pads to use in my opinion. Like previous reviews have stated, you need to clean the head before you apply it. It's the DUST it won't stick to, not the head. Also, why are some looking for a click with FELT beaters? This pad outlasts all others and when used with wood beaters give the punch and click I look for. The only thing to actually wear these down was taping quarters to the beaters(a word of caution to click pad users). Kevlar and cordura pads don't last and muffle your hits. Think $8 is excessive? Think of paying 3-4 times that for a new head; 'nough said. I haven't bothered with the Super Thins because I know they're not as durable. You need this pad!

          The best out there

          By Isaiah

          from Springfield, MO

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

For the metal drummer who talked about it not sounding good or having that "click" metal drummsr look for, that's because its not supposed to. If you are a hard hitter who is tired of going through kick heads like me, this pad is the best. To the several posts about it falling off, clean your drumhead before you stick it on... thats how stickers work. They don't stick to a dusty head. I've peeled these things off of heads and put them on different heads before and it works just fine, stays put and everything. If you don't know how to operate a sticker, don't play drums. lol. Overall, this thing will outlast any kickpad on the market, and trust me, I've wasted lots of money to figure that out.

          Meh

Comments about Aquarian DKP2 Double Kick Drum Pad:

Its ok, but don't expect it to give you a sudden boost of click or attack in your bass drum sound. Granted, it does sound nice paired up with a Super Kick II, but it has nothing on quarters taped to your bass drum.I end up just using this for practicing, but when it comes time to play live, I tape quarters on top of it and then I really get the click I want, and from what I understand it sounds great. As far as recording goes, I always sample my bass drum with Drumagog, so I can't comment on that.If you want something to protect your bass drum head, and maybe add a small amount of presence to it, get this.
