If you can't afford a high end drum set, these are great addition to make your cheap set sound great. DW Collectors, Pearl Masters, etc don't need any of these, I run a backline business and I can tell good drums are way easier to tune tan cheap drums. My personal kit is a DDrum Journeyman and I have to admit toms have lots of overtone even with new hidraulic heads, so I went for one of these and they made a great difference. Plus, I like my toms to look clean, I hate drum heads full of tape and sticky glue. So yeah, go ahead, worth the money.

I just bought these today and they are amazing. I was fed up with my moongels. They are said to be the best, and I never though that a stupid little plasic ring could dampen my drums. What the hell I was thinking, I do not know! they are amazing, they truly blow the moon gels out of the water.

A Decent Buy.

I heard about dampeners rings from my cousin. He owns the Remo RemOs and they sound pretty good. The rings takes the hollowness out. Having a ring on the snare is great. If you have a cheaper snare that sounds like your hitting a metal can just put a dampener ring on the and that goes away. I bought these Set Aquarian Studio Rings is just for the fact I wanted to know if they sounded different from the Remo ones. They don't sound different but the Set Aquarian Studio Rings just are a little heavier then the Remo's so you can angle your toms a lot more so they won't fall off. Any rings you buy really won't fall off but there's a chance. All the dampener ring sound the same to me. It matter how you tune you set too. These dampener ring is a pretty good buy. I'm happy with this product.

I got these for my Mapex drum set that had new Evans heads on them. They had a really bad ring so i bought these n they sound soooo much better! The price was right for them as well! I would recommend these to any drummer!

I use a ludwig drumset with evans heads and to be quite honest, my toms sounded like tin cans almost. With these rings it dampens the sound, giving that dead sound that every drummer expects from their kits. I highly recommend getting these, they're EXTREMELY cheap, durable for the most part, and the results are amazing. Don't doubt them just by their looks because they wrok like a charm. Hope this helped :)

Aquarian Dampener Rings

By Ethan Penner

Comments about Aquarian Studio Rings Set #1 - 12",13",14",16":

I was incredibly impressed with this product. I have the original toms from my little Ludwig beginner set, and they sounded absolutely horrible. I was fed up with tuning them over and over and getting no results, so i was about to buy new heads. A friend from school has these same rings on his set, and his toms sound great so i decided to give them a try. Holy Cow!! With almost no tuning, just adding these rings, my toms sounded incredible, especially my 16" floor tom. Saved me a ton of money. So don't buy new heads until you've tried these rings!

These rings are the bee's knee's. Way better than the evan's rings. You don't lose any of your tone and they add a kind of bass to your drums...It's really cool!!

While proper drum tuning is crucial, these rings can make even entry-level drums sound pretty good. They take out all the ringing and overtones from your drums. I use them on everything, from my students' beginner kits up to my own DW kit. I love them and never play without them. I know some people like that ringy tone to their drums and to each their own, but I like tight controlled sound and that's exactly what you get when you use these rings.
