Comments about Bartolini 5J Jazz Guitar Pickup (Johnny Smith type):

I have the Benedetto by Seymour Duncan on my custom made Heritage Eagle / Johnny Smith. My guitar has X bracing and is a JS scale. Made by Heritage and top carved done by Gibson.
I also have a Carlo Robelli copy of a Johnny Smith. I put this Bartolini pickup on and I like it better than the Seymour Duncan. It is clear and a little brighter. This may be because on the Seymour Duncan Benedetto I used a capacitor to warm the sound. I didn't on the Bartolini.
I love this pick up and I will buy another for my new Ibanez Jazz axe. This is a good price,
