      Decently Good, with Practice Amazing

Comments about BigHeart Glass Double Cut Bottleneck Guitar Slide:

I was surprised at the size. It's pretty large. The shape is funky and it can be difficult to articulate certain notes, but it makes it pretty versatile -- sometimes I play with the horn up and sometimes down. I like the slant; it may be my finger shape or just the way I play, but for me it allows a light touch and the wall "avoids" most of the strings, save for the target. This can make dampening less demanding. There are two ridges down the side that are common on most wine bottles -- if you're not paying attention these can cause unwanted feedback. All things being said, when my control is right on it gets a pretty full, thick, and warm sound. It works excellent for acoustic delta blues stuff, and it squeals when put to an electric. I'm still looking, but I recommend picking one out and trying it for a couple of months. If anything it is a lot more entertaining to mess around with than your ordinary, run-of-the-mill slide.

      Good Investment

      By Geoff Arnold

Comments about BigHeart Glass Double Cut Bottleneck Guitar Slide:

I've owned this particular brand's slide for a year now so I am giving you a time on the tool based review.I've owned just about every kind of slide imaginable over the last forty years, okay? Some were really nice, others just weren't worth spit. This slide is comfortable, once you make the necessary adjustments. Just as a note, I wear it on my ring finger, not my pinky or middle finger, not that this 'matters'; but I suppose, because my students ask "Which finger is best?" I tell them which ever is most comfortable to you. Experiment and then decide which is best and stick with it.It's kind of big and bulky, but has a 'heft' that you want because in this way it will 'sit' on the strings well without adding pressure beyond what you absolutely require. Therefore, a delicate touch is developed, and preferred. Having a 'radius' also can work to your advantage, but it isn't very pronounced, so doesn't get in the way.Because stuff happens, and it is glass, buy a few over time so you'll have your spare(s).

      Favorite Slide

      By M Dixon

      from McCall, ID

Comments about BigHeart Glass Double Cut Bottleneck Guitar Slide:

I've tried a half dozen type of slides, ceramic, metal, different types of glass, and this one is my favorite. It is a little ill-regular but that justs adds to it's mojo. An authentic bottle neck for an authentic bottle neck sound.

The bottle neck slide is king, but I found this little guy in SC making fully polished slides. Check out Mr. B's Bottle neck slides - these are by far the best slides ever made.

Pretty good slide for the money

      By Little Brother

Comments about BigHeart Glass Double Cut Bottleneck Guitar Slide:

This is a good choice if you need a decent slide in a hurry or a spare but it's not the best quality slide out there. The unpolished seam catches the strings and the melted ends are a little unrefined and sloppy but it's probably a decent choice overall. I use it as my spare.

      Nice but a little rough

      By Little Brother Blues

      from Conyers, GA

Comments about BigHeart Glass Double Cut Bottleneck Guitar Slide:

The slightly sloppy look you see in the photo is accurate plus it has a seam. The ends are not cut perfectly and the melting of the ends gives a slightly irregular shape on ends. Some chipping on the ends. If I'd paid more for it I'd return it but I like the way it plays. I'll use it as a backup once I get a better one.
