This slide is exactly what I was looking for in terms of length, inside diameter, wall thickness and weight to replace my 34 plus year old slide. I've had this slide so long and took it for granted that one night after a gig when a different piece of my equipment got lost I realized if this slide were to get lost what would I replace it with. Well the BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide turned out to be the answer. I tried out three other slides before giving this one a try and bingo that was it. I have adult size hands and bought the medium size and wear it on my pinky finger. It fits perfect. I would recommend this slide to anyone that prefers to get as much weight as possible out of their slide.

It's a heavy brass slide. Nothing less, nothing more. And that's all I really expected, so I'm satisfied. But the photos of this thing make it look like some artfully machined, iconic masterpiece of a slide--nd it's definitely not. Again, it's just a heavy brass slide with Robert Johnson's name etched (in the most nondescript) way on the side.

Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
I have tried many different types of slides. The first ones were pyrex, which are garbage in my opinion. I have a steel slide, but it is too scratchy sounding and the one I have does not sustain well. I have several wine bottle neck slides which are great; I've used them for years. Then there is the Robert Johnson bronze slide. It has a character all its own. Great sustain. Excellent volume. More pitch accuracy than the other slides. It fits well (I have a medium that I thought may be too big on my pinky, but it fits perfectly.) With it, my resonators sound like I want them to sound. It has become my favorite slide.
Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
I have slides in all sizes, materials and styles. I've given away my thin-walled glass slides. Useless, IMO... I use different slides for different tones for a particular song, but I have to say, if I could only have one, and had to pick, I'd take this gorgeous slide. Heavy? Yes, but that's where all that juicy tone lives. It's like lifting weights. Just work with it everyday, and soon you'll be a monster. There are tons of less pricey alternatives, and several are pretty good; but this one is worth every penny, IMO. Makes your acoustic SING... makes your resonator SCREAM!
Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
This is my first slide. I hope I wont have to buy a new one, and I mean that in a good way. This thing looks and feels tuff. It is not as shiny as in the pic, my sister thought it was gold(and tried to take it.) I really like the little bag it comes with, yet also not as pictured. It is not as leathery as the pic, but more cloth like. But that is not a big deal, i am extreamly satisfied with this slide, just wish that my acoustic strings came in.

Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
I ordered the BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide last week, after trying unsuccessfully to recreate Johnson's sound with brass and porcelain slides. BigHeart delivered tone in spades. The Robert Johnson slide is markedly heavier than comparable brass slides. It is true to size, and produces a warm, noise-free acoustic tone effortlessly. Muting unwanted notes is a breeze...it's all thick, sinewy Delta blues. I'd recommend that potential buyers reassess the action on the intended acoustic; this slide is not for the feint of heart and can produce discernible "clunks" on the fretboard if not controlled adequately. Honestly, the best slide I have every played, yet probably not suitable for pinkie fingers (ringfinger strength is a must with this slide!).The slide you'll receive is noticeably duller than the photograph. Bronze is susceptible to developing a tarnished patina that is not detrimental to tone but makes the slide aesthetically "antiqued." Scrubbing the slide with equal parts of baking soda and lemon juice produces an incomparable luster. All said, this is a phenomenal, peerless acoustic blues slide. Nothing I've tried comes close.
Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
I've had this slide for a few years now. I use it on my Dobro or acoustics exclusively. I prefer the tone of glass for electric. The weight of this slide is nice for full/thick tones on acoustic, which can sound thin on glass or lightweight slides. It does tarnish easily but polishes up nicely too. The lettering is surprisingly smooth when playing, although sometimes can be heard buzzing strings. The buzz is not loud enough or often enough to merit any concern. It is all part of the raunch of the blues. A cool collector's piece if nothing else.
Comments about BigHeart Robert Johnson Legacy Bronze Slide:
I collect slides so I thought this one would just be a show piece for the collection. I was wrong! This is an awesome slide. Best for acoustic and great if you own a National or similar resophonic guitar. The heaviness brings out the sound and helps with the vibrato. Love it
