Easy to use. The cleaner saturates the wipes in just the right amount. You may need two for a small cymbal and three to four for a larger cymbal.
Works great on old Zildjians and older Paistes cymbals. I have some from the 70s that now look new! The logos came off from repeated cleanings, but so what. Some reviewers expressed problems with skin irritation from the solvent. I have not had any problems with that. Just wash your hands well afterwards. If your skin is a bit more sensitive, then use some type of gloves when cleaning.
Good value, The wipes go a long way. This product is also good for cleaning off residue that a lot of other cymbal polishing products leave behind.
When I first bought these wipes there were no reviews whatsoever. I recently finished the wipes and I am debating wether to get a new pack. The reason being is that when I cleaned my Z customs and sweet ride (brilliant) they came out looking new; when I cleaned an old 404 paiste crash , zbt ride it completely ruined them. I recently cleaned my Wuhan New traditional cymbals and they came out great. I cleaned a traditional Sabian AA dry ride and left a green oxidation spot but everything else is shiny and clean. I clean them all in the same manner, so I guess it depends on whether your willing to take a chance on it. At least I know it works great for my brilliant finish cymbals.
Its a wipe.
It works great on some cymbals and it ruins others.
great price for a good concept.
Absolutley demolished my Zildjian A Rock Hats. I bought the cymbals used from a local music shop, and thought these wipes might bring some life back into them. They looked great for a couple of days, but then green discoloration and oxidation started popping up. It looked like what happens to someones finger when they wear knock of jewelry for a while. The wipes even changed the sound of the cymbals. Seriously, these things are like acid. They make cymbals look cleaner because they literally take off the top layer of metal. The only reason I didn't give these things 0's across the board is because they DID get the rust off the bumper of my dad's 73 Ford pickup.
Destroys the logos on the cymbals and completely changes the color of the cymbals. Never buy this product if you care about cymbals. The next day it left all these horrible marks and oxidation. a horrible product. horrible for brilliant finish cymbals especially.
ok, like it has been said. Wear gloves while using this product. The chemicals ate away at the skin underneath my fingernails and now they are all puffy and its been about a week. Not to mention it hurts like a b!@#H for a couple of days. Anyways, its restored my neglected cymbals to a perfect shine. It's the same concept as groove juice but you can work it in more to get all the deep grime out. Also, to save your logos...you can use electrical tape over them. Granted it removes a little but this stuff will take anything off. Not to mention, you can clean the bottom of your tub out with this stuff too...no more orange water stains!
First of all WEAR LATEX GLOVES when using this. My hands buned by the chemicals simply because I did not wear gloves.Do not ue them on Zildjian K's or the cheaper ZBT cymbals. The logos disappear and the fininsh comes off. Zildjian A's came out beautiful though.
Get this product! Follow directions and it works as promised. Even comes with pair of heavy-duty surgical-type gloves, which you wear because the product contains butyl cellusolve (whatever that is) and "organic acids." I started out by trying this on the dirtiest vintage A Series in my stock and a no-name Zildjian look-alike, also filthy. The no-name came out sparkling, looked new, the A Series almost. Subsequent applications I'm sure would make it look new. I've since tried on some Sabian B8's and it made them look better. Didn't remove stick marks but didn't remove logos either (it did seem to take very small bits away, so be careful, or tape over your logos. Get this!
I used the swipes on several cymbals. The newer ones came out looking brand spanking new, and the older ones came out looking almost new. Very easy to use.
