If you are a studio guy or a hobbyist, this plug makes a lot of sense. While its kind of pricey for what it is and I saw comparable "knock offs" for the price range, it just didn't make sense to risk my $$ ME-70 for a little price difference. And now I know I have MF and Boss to stand behind me stuff.
Its a plug...
This is what scared me a little. I really didn't want to have to buy batteries for my ME-70 and "compatible" adapters scared me so dispite what I read that the quality was poor I bought it anyway. After examining it closely I can say it appears to be made about as well as any other adapter I own, if not better. I have to say I am not a gigging musician; more of a studio guy, so perhaps in a road scenario it doesn't stand up as well but that could be said about anything, really.
There are 2 reasons to get this:
1. Never have to buy batteries again
2. If you use it with the ME-70 (and probably any other pedal), it shuts off the device once you cut power to it. This means you don't have to unplug the input jack. I have it hooked up to a rack mounted "rack oft switches" so I can turn it off with a quick flip. I hated the fact hat I had to plug and unplug the input chord all the time. Again for a gigging musician this is much less of an issue. Chances are you would want the battery advantage for the cordless point.

I owned 2 of these adapters to power my pedals with boss' recommendation. After a while of use one of the adapters failed during a jam leaving me without a pedal for the rest of the day. I was disapointed but thought maybe it was a fluke until the exact same thing happened again with the other PSA adapter. Now i know that its just poor quality garbage. You can get better or same quality adapters for much less cost.

Comments about Boss PSA-120S Adapter:
1) This unit or an equivalent should be included with the purchase of a pedal board.
2) The unit stopped working with less than 20 hours use.
I called Boss directly and they will not warranty the unit past 90 days. I am a professional musician and I handle my equipment carefully. Boss pedal boards tend to run on unusual specifications, so I am stuck using this unit. The power supply alone will cause me to reconsider buying other Boss pedal bards.

Comments about Boss PSA-120S Adapter:
I bought this along with the Boss Loop Station RC-30. I have a Boss pedal case (Boss BCB-60 Pedal Board) and the RC-30 fit nicely and could use the on-board power supply so I did not need the PSA-120S ADAPTER after all. These power supplies should cost around half of what they ask!

Comments about Boss PSA-120S Adapter:
This is a good adapter that I bought along with my Boss DS1 distortion pedal. It has a good length cord. Its built sturdy and i have used it without any problems for 3 months and counting. Saves me the cost of using 9 volt batteries when practicing at home with my DS1 pedal.

Comments about Boss PSA-120S Adapter:
The adaptor works as promised and only takes up one outlet on the power strip. However, the "hump" in the middle is odd and bulky. Not to mention they are almnost twice the price of most other adaptors. I would recommend the Dunlop ECB-003. Works just as well and almost half the price. Only drawback on the Dunlop is the transformer is bulky when compared to this one. But they do work with boss pedals. :)

Comments about Boss PSA-120S Adapter:
This is a nice addition to the Boss ME 70 I purchased recently. It has 500 ma which is good when operating several effects at once. Alot of the adapters out there supply 300 ma or less. I have not had it very long, so I cannot comment on the durability aspect. It seems to be made well however. As for the price, seems a bit high, but the output is 500 ma which I guess warrants the price.

Only after I purchased the Boss-RC-3--Loop pedal- dId I discover it needed a power supply---NOT STATED AYWHERE ! Sure it will run on Batt. power for about 2 hrs. unaccepable IT SHOULD COME WITH THE POWER SUPPLY!

The 9-Vdc battery eater has been calmed and I'm loving it.
