Bright white color makes it easy to find for a messy musician or studio. I recommend it. Great price and value. Replaces my other BOSS metronome-only device. This COULD be the end-all for all-in-one tuner/metronomes, BUT--- Boss really falls short in one CRITICAL area here: the metronome is TOO SOFT. It's fine if you're using the tool with a soft instrument, but forget it with a trumpet, piano, or amplified instrument. Boss, this is not a cheap product, so simply offer a 3-position loudness control for the metronome, and you have the BEST, once again, as Boss so often has! Wittner and Seiko have nice, LOUD metronomes, so don't let them beat you out, Boss!

Comments about Boss TU-80 Guitar Tuner & Metronome:

You can tune either by plugging in or use the built-in mike. This model is way better than the old boss tuners. You can quickly tune a guitar. I don't use the metronome function. I do know that the metronome is not loud. I'm happy with this tuner and it was on sale at about half price. It's small so it doesn't take up a lot of room. Easy to store.

Great 'lil tuner/metronome. I got this cheap on MF's "Stupid Deal of the Day". Even at regular price it's well worth it. Buy it, you won't regret it.

This model has unacceptable low volume to be used as a metronome. Google the multitude of negative reviews having this exact complaint before wasting your money.

This is not useful as a metronome, if you want to hear it - the volume of the beats are too low and cannot be made louder, nor can they be heard through the output jack with headphones. Today, better and more convenient tuner options exist for the instruments I play, such as those that clip on and sense vibration. This may have some value as a tuner for some musicians that want to plug an instrument cable into it. I am extremely disappointed in this product, but may keep it only because of the shipping cost issues of returning it would cost almost as much as I paid for it on a Deal of the Day. I will be wary of buying another Boss product - how could they design and produce and sell a product that is not functional? I will purchase something else.

This was offered as a "Stupid Deal of the Day" from Musician's Friend. Timing is everything and this metronome keeps me there -plus- it has the advantage of super quality tuning. In tune with proper time, just can't ask for a better combination!
