OVERVIEW

Listen to any Hendrix recording and chances are you're hearing the unmistakably creamy tones of the G12H.

The G12M may have become a classic, but it was the G12H with its heavier magnet that really characterized the sound of '60s rock guitar. Originally available in 2 versions--low resonance for bassists and high resonance for guitarists--both were embraced by guitar players for their unique tonal characteristics.

The Celestion G12H is a perfect re-creation of the low resonance model, right down to the voice coil former material; glue formulations; and vintage, solder-only tag panel. Suitable for use in all cabs, it exudes thick, syrupy tones with a deep, growling bottom end.

Just thought I'd let yall know that this particular speaker will blow dry your hair for you at volume 6...I own a 90s' model Crate Blue Voodoo and I had the cops called on me twice. I then invested in a power brake and really this cab is sweet as chocolate. I got two Celestion Vintage 30watters on top and I run two Celestion Heritage 30watters on bottom...For me, it took a while to aqire this set-up, but it was worth the wait...To finally get to crank this amp up reminds me of bying my first camaro back in the day and finally getting to drive it after restoring it...These speakers are "pricey", though I couldn't settle for compromise. They're so deeply rich in sound they're the ultimate copmpiment for my Vintage speakers. If you purchase these speakers, get a power brake or a change of underwear...;)

I would think that this would be a quality inspected product from Celestion (Made In England)
The speaker arrived with no shipping damage, the package was in good shape. I found that the cone looks like it has some type of defect from the factory. It has indents and creases where it should be smooth. Possibly a machining error. No luck getting a response from Celestion. I give MF credit for trying. Anyways, since I had to drill additional holes due to Fenders 6 stud mounting system, looks like I'm stuck with it. But I'll be sure not to let it happen to me again.

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I never fully appreciated what a huge difference speakers make. It's never too late to have that realization. Thinking of trying out Alnico Blues in another set up.
Last year I hand-wired an 18-watt Marshall clone. The stock speaker was glassy and icy. Last night I swapped it for the G12H - and man-o-man does this amp sing! I have a battalion of effects pedals - but I love the romance of plugging in straight (guitar to amp with nothing in between); and this amp/speaker/Les Paul combo lets me simplify.
It looks quality-built.

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

When the Celestion Heritage line came out, it pretty much didn't get my attention. I already own a few 'Blues, and they are great, articulate speakers that just sound good. I just didn't need a new speaker. I became curious about the Celestion Heritage series after reading about the EVH model that is allegedly an accurate remake of the G12M 20 Watt speaker that Ed insists on for 'his tone'. Reading a little further, it seems that the EVH speaker is nothing more than a Heritage G12M with EVH decoration. Then I found a Heritage G12H Model T1234/P in Scratch & Dent clearance. Why not? Woah! What a life changing speaker! The dynamics are incredible! With my Goodsell Super 17 Mk2 amp my picking techniques come through with amazing clarity. Truly great!

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I loaded one of these into my mesa boogie 1x12 3/4 cab and it turns heads. I'm running 22 boogie watts to it and the match is made in heaven. i can't describe how well i like this speaker. the quality is top notch as well. the highs are nice and the lows are very well pronounced. the amp loves funk tones as well as rock/blues and country.

Speakers make or break the tone you hear in your h

By just jammin

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

Looking for tone rather than just clean or distorted, my first choice was amp. I went with a Goodsell Super 17 1/12. It had a vintage 30. It just didn't deliver what I wanted to hear. On the advice of Richard Goodsell I bought a Heritage 12H. This speaker is so much more balanced than the other. It delivers everything from highs to lows with clarity and articulation. I am just getting past the break in period. This is what I was hearing in my head! It is great clean or distorted. A little expensive, but worth every penny. I can see why greenbacks are so legendary.

Significant Improvement

By Squidmagnet

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I just replaced my Marshall 4x12 of Vintage 30s with an Egnater 2x12 of these Heritage series G12H speakers. I noticed as significant an improvement in my tone as when I first switched from a hybrid amp to an all tube amp. I'm told they will sound even better after about 40 hours of play to break them in.

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

got these preinstalled in my hardwired marshall 4x12 canibet. Doesn't matter whether or not its my jcm 900, tsp 100 or my plexi they all sound perfect through these speakers. I also have a 2x12 can that i mixed one of these and a heritage greenback in. If you like that 60-70s rock and blues sound then these deliver! Nice tight bass, smooth highs and nice mid range bark and bite. There was a reason Hendrix used this type of speaker in his cabs. These are on the expensive side but an investment worth making in my opinion. I doubt you will change them out after playing them, especially after being broken in. The break-in time is a little longer than vintage 30s in my opinion but worth the wait. I sped up the process by turning the bass up full on my plexi and playing about 10 minutes of thumping e string nonsense to help get the woofer moving nicely, then I would go about my normal playing and recording. I have a 4x12 filled with these and a 4x12 1960 cab filled with heritage greenbacks, which I love, but these are always my absolute first choice when recording in my home studio. Save your money and give them a shot!

Comments about Celestion Heritage G12H (55Hz) 30W, 12" Vintage Guitar Speaker:

this is a nice speaker, good build comparable to the vintage 30 in terms of quality slightly smaller magnet as for the sound compared to vintage 30 it is brighter in freq. i know the stats say only difference is the 55 low compared to 75 for vintage 30 but to my ears its just brighter. i like it i pair it with a vintage 30 and it makes a good tone clean or with gain. i use it solo with ampeg or orange amp and gets a nice clean tone nicer at lower volumes than the 30 but i like the 30 for high gain with higher wattage amps seems like it takes more volume to get the vintage 30 to sing well than this one so it is expensive but an upgrade for most stock speakers even the V30 in some cases.
