I play rock, jazz and most styles in between. I like very heavy picks. I've tried many brands and sizes and each have their own usefulness. But when I need my "go to" pick, I grab the 1.52 mm Clayton Acetal Standard Guitar Picks (always have one in my pocket). I often use a picking technique called "compression" picking which really digs into the strings and produces a full and sustainable type sound (almost like using a compressor pedal), and these picks are great for that.

I haven't read any of the other reviews so i don't know what people are saying about these picks but I can tell you at first they feel a little sticky, but this wears off some after a couple of weeks. At that point they feel great. They never break. They sound great on all of the strings but especially the 3rd string and the two high string. If you use a heavy 3rd string, (18 - 22 gauge), and one of these 1.52mm picks, you'll will get that string to SING!

These do well at producing false harmonics. They are also great for fast jazz runs. They're even great for heavy stroking funky chords (E9s and such) once you get used to playing hard and using a lot of body motion. You will be heard over the band. Very loud picks. I have a lot of people ask how I get my guitars to sing, and sound thick like they do. There are a lot of factors (mainly the hands, the frets, the picks, and then the electronics and the guitar itself in that order), but these picks help a lot.

Great for blues, jazz, even metal and I suppose shredding as it gives you great control.

The feel of the pick my freak some people out at first, but it never bothered me and they smooth up real fast. Other than that I can think of nothing negative to say about them. They are expensive but they last FOREVER! I bought 4 dozen (48 picks) over two years ago, I play and teach every day and I still have over 40 picks left. I mean they really last. I can do pick scrapes ALL DAY and I or the strings give out before the pick. These things last.

I do bend strings a lot, but I still prefer heavy strings and heavy picks with a Fender scale length. Add the Clayton Acetal Standard Guitar Picks 1.52mm on top of that and you have a very thick and rich tone.

Oh, and they look really cool I think.

I rarely leave reviews, so that should say something about these picks. They're great!

      Hope that helps.

I've been using the Clayton 0.80 MM guitar pick for years. They are great for any playing style of mine, i.e., picking or strumming, and have never slipped out. I can't use another pick as they just don't feel as comfortable as the Clayton 0.80 MM. Excellent choice for me.

A friend turned me on to Claytons (1.00) 5 years ago and that is all I've used ever since. I play guitar and bass. I Perform weekly playing rock, gospel and recording projects. These picks are sturdy and don't make that "flapping" sound when you're doing alternating picking. A bonus is the company does custom work and you can design your pick on their website.

Comments about Clayton Acetal Standard Guitar Picks:

I've used Claytons for quite awhile and I like how they last. I can however wear them out, although it takes a lot longer than most other picks. I like how they sound. Like all picks you can cut into them doing pick slides but a few rubs with the edge on carpet brings the edge right back to life. I use .80, 1.00 and 1.26's. They're a great pick for the money, but, I work on cars for a living and my hands take the brunt of the abuse and I can't hold onto them well enough anymore as with any other pick. I since have changed to Everly Star Picks, I'm not as happy with the sound they produce but the cutout in them keeps them where they belong. If Clayton could do something like an opening in the pick that doesn't infringe on the Everly's patent I would be back using Claytons. Hint, hint.

Well its a pick but I guess you could call the "no slip" grip a feature
The feel like high quality picks, best I've used.
A little on the pricey side but I think they might have made a believer out of me.

                Nice picks

                from California

Comments about Clayton Acetal Standard Guitar Picks:

Like most brands, they come in many shapes and weights. However, unlike many, (I certainly haven't tried them all) they don't break and, they're slightly ruff to the touch. This gives me a little more security when I'm working a solo and I'm not distracted by the pick flying off into the dark.
As I mentioned above, I'm currently using a 60mm. That's for electric guitar. I go heavier for the acoustic and I think, obviously, the heavier the pick, the longer it will maintain it's point.
They're easier to hold on to than a hard plastic pick. If you get sweaty, you're not as apt to lose it.
I gave it an 8 because, the 60mm that I use will wear down 'till it's only good for strumming. I stick with them though, because, while they do wear down, they don't all of a sudden crack when I'm driving a rhythm part.
                Great value thru M.F.
