Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
I like this slide but its weight makes it bumble on my small finger. Wearing it on my ring finger doesn't let me utilize scales or cords.

Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
I generally like porcelain slides and bought this on sale. The glaze is not smooth and you cannot really use it as a slide without hanging up on the strings. Get the Joe Perry boneyard slide, great finish and works great.
Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
The finish was rough. It sounded like I was dragging a saw blade across the strings. I thought about sending it back but it was a lot of trouble for a low cost item. I lightly sanded it with 600 grit and it's fine now but I should not have had to do that. Poor quality control.
Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
The con's far outweigh the pro's on this one. Buy it only if its going to be showcased in your display case. Get something else if you are actually going to play with it.
Nice artwork, but the main reason you buy a slide if for the sound. And this is the worst sounding slide I have out of a couple dozen. It sounds like they didn't use enough glaze or something and it scratches the strings. I also have the Joe Perry porcelin slide and it sounds and plays great. Joe's may not be as pretty but the sound is worlds better.
It seems like good heavy quality and fits well.
Good for a collectors item but not for actual use.
Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
This is a pretty good slide. Up until now I had never used a porcelain slide, and compared to a steel slide it has a much mellower tone. It sounds rather similar to a heavy-walled glass slide. A thin glass slide has a slightly brighter tone. The mellow tone works well with my cherry and cedar folk-bodied acoustic guitar. It would do well to tone down a larger, brighter acoustic as well (such as a dreadnought).
At first glance I was rather amazed by the thickness of this slide. I got the small because I play with the slide on my pinky finger. The entire thing is ~25mm in diameter with a 15-16mm interior diameter that fits snugly on my pinky, resting at the second joint. The thickness will take some getting used to unless you are used to a heavy walled slide. It sounds nice and the printing is well done. On my acoustic with Martin Silk & Phosphor strings, the saw-like sound of it sliding up and down is much more pronounced than on my electric with Ernie Ball Slinky strings. For some reason it seems louder than when using a smaller (21mm outside diameter) steel slide.
Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
Specs were unavailable for sizes, so I ordered the "heavy" size slide and found the Diameter is very large. Big enough for a thumb, So I will order the Medium size next. Love the look and feel, just need the right fit.
Comments about Clayton American Hotties Guitar Slide:
I couldn't believe the detail printing on this slide. Simply amazing! Also, I lucked out as it fit my finger perfectly. I don't used slides a lot, but I really love having this on sitting around all of my gear.
