A steel socket slide that's modified for more control and comfort.

The Clayton Socket Guitar Slide turns what musicians have known for decades into a reality. Sockets make great guitar slides due to their 12-star interior grip. Clayton enhances the traditional tool kit socket by extending the length and opening up the other end.

This guitar slide locks onto your finger, giving you more control and comfort while you play. Made of heavy chrome, the Clayton Steel Socket Guitar Slide is available in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large.

Instead of rustling through your toolbox for an old socket to use as a slide, you'll want to buy this modified steel socket slide made for guitar players today.

Comments about Clayton Steel Socket Guitar Slide:

I expected Clayton to be a quality product. You have to have trust when you but on-line. Any slide player knows you can't use a slide full of scratches and nicks. It makes too much noise and the strings make random pings when they catch of these flaws. I would expect any slide manufacturer to know this too, and have better quality control. Doesn't matter how much or how little you pay for something, if you can't use it, you threw your money away.

Comments about Clayton Steel Socket Guitar Slide:

Tho' I "measured twice and [bought] once," the medium was much too small for my long, skinny left-hand middle finger (I nearly got my finger caught in it like a Chinese finger puzzle), thus too small for both my larger index-finger and smaller ring finger with it's permanently swollen knuckle. (Be careful trying new slides on!) The plating was scratched when I opened it and appears to be so thin that wound strings could quickly cause it to peel and scratch off off. Still, I'll give it to a young guitar player... While it looks like a genuine socket, the quality of the 'steel' is so poor...

          Distinctive slide sound - BRIGHT.

Comments about Clayton Steel Socket Guitar Slide:

Brass or glass slides do sound better but if you are after a brighter note with plenty of attack, use sparingly with Ernie Ball stainless steel strings, for a super sharp slide sound, that'll cut you bad to the bone.
The chromed steel, socket looks exactly as per the photo, seems to be reasonably well made and packaging was adeqaute and easily opened.
Soundwise, it's a lot brighter than any glass or brass slide I've used previously and it's heavy. Don't practise in bare feet liked I did because dropping it on your foot will hurt!
          It's fairly cheap
