Silky feel, brilliant tone, and incredible string life.

Gauges - 45-65-85-105

Medium Gauge Cleartone Coated Bass Strings are made of nickel-plated steel over a hex core. A unique treatment called EMP coats the entire string with an ultrathin protective film. It's the thinnest coating ever applied to bass strings (less than one micron!) and will withstand more abuse from hard strumming than coatings 1000 times thicker! EMP ensures longer string life by protecting strings from corrosion due to skin acidity, salt, and moisture without compromising feel and sound. Made in the USA.

Features

  • Thinnest coating ever!
  • Dramatically increases string life
  • Protects strings from corrosion
  • Withstands hard strumming

This is high-tech you don't have to understand to appreciate. Order a few today.

Best Strings I've Ever Used

By MichiganBassist

from Grand Rapids, MI

Comments about Cleartone Coated Bass Strings Medium Gauge:

I've used Ernie Ball, Fender, GHS, DR, and Rotosound strings. I had been trying to find a set of strings for a while that had some punch, but also retained some level of thump. These strings have that, at least with my Fender Precision bass and 5 string Jazz bass. They sound great with fingers, picking, or slapping. They have great sustain and chords sound clear and smooth. I'm a bit of a tone freak and usually end up changing strings about every 3 to 4 months depending on what strings I'm using at the time. It's been 6 months since I've changed these.

Cleartone strings

By R Dean

from Arizona

Comments about Cleartone Coated Bass Strings Medium Gauge:

I bought these stings when the original elixir strings that came on my Ibanez Soundgear bass were starting to shed. i also needed new strings for an upcoming gig.To say the least, the cleartone medium strings started out with a good sound, but the feel was a bit more to be desired. I am still more of a fan of the elixir strings.

TTHHEE BEST

By SteadybasS

from SLC, UT

Comments about Cleartone Coated Bass Strings Medium Gauge:

I have never been faithful to any string company, or weight, or wind. I used to get a different set on purpose each time. This allowed me to get a good feel of almost every string on the market. I tried these at the suggestion of a friend. I threw them on my custom Jazz, and they sounded amazing. Just enough bite, unlike most new strings that make you sound like a metallic cyborg for the first few weeks. (I guess some people like that) This was roughly 7 months ago, and I just bought my second set of cleartone mediums. Not because they're dead, or broken, but because in case I lose a string at a show I want to have backup. These strings are simply the best strings on the market for a good overall sound and unbeatable reliability.

Long lasting? Right.

By Ampeg SVT

from Washington State

Comments about Cleartone Coated Bass Strings Medium Gauge:

I am a die hard Elixer string user and thought that Cleartones would be a good alternative. Out of the box they felt very coarse but they sounded relatively good on my Musicman Sterling, I played them for an hour or two and then left the strings to see if they would last.Actually they had died and become so dull that I could take a set of flatwounds off of a old Fender and they wouldn't have been as dull as these pieces of garbage.

Outstanding

By optikhog

from St. Peters, MO

Comments about Cleartone Coated Bass Strings Medium Gauge:

Gives a slightly more mellow tone that the Ken Smith strings I'm used to, which is a good thing. Easy on the fingers like a flatwound, but last seemingly forever. I've had 2 basses strung with these for over a year and they're still going strong.
