Comments about Cleartone Monster Heavy Series Nickel-Plated Drop D Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are not ideal for any tuning. the tensions between strings are completely off. The D and A strings are larger gauges then even on a normal pack of 12s. The low E when dropped is still floppier than the rest. I would NEVER recommend these for drop D. Even for Drop C# certain strings are pulling way too much pressure

I have had these strings on my guitars for over a year and love them. They sound great. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

Cleartone 11-56 Gauge Strings

Comments about Cleartone Monster Heavy Series Nickel-Plated Drop D Electric Guitar Strings:

When I put these strings on my guitar I noticed right away that the A and D strings were VERY tight even when tuned one step down. Upon playing them I found they felt a lot like uncoated strings, and sounded pretty good. The A and D were too tight for my liking, but I wasn?t about to throw away a set of expensive coated strings because two strings felt too tight. But then, a roughly a week went by before the top 3 (G, B, & E) started to tarnish. This was disappointing because they didn't seem to last much longer than the uncoated sets I've tried. Later that week, I played in a local Battle of the Bands using these strings and they preformed well. A few days after the show I tuned my guitar down to Drop B and the A and D strings were STILL tight and the top three strings were much more tarnished than they were before. All in all this set was a disappointment because the strings didn't last as long as I had hoped and the set is very unbalanced.
