It is handy to have a box you can carry a round and put all of your guitar setup stuff in, but it's a hassle to use for a number of reasons. The construction and alignment of the three storage area lids are horrible. If you put things in there that you need like the stuff that is in the second photo on this site the door will open when you open the case. The lids are held down by velcro and it doesn't take much to push them open. The lids are attached to the case by flemsy rivets and look like they will come loose soon. Anything flat like feeler gauges, picks, small ruler for checking action will all slip through the bottom of the storage area because the walls of the storage areas don't touch the bottom of the case. So each time I open the case I have hold the lids shut and watch our for pieces trying to escape. The outside is great, but you may have fix the inside to make it be what it should be when it gets to you. Not worth the money for the hassle.
I received the Core Equipment Tech Box Guitar Workstation as a Christmas gift. The outside of the box looks great, and is very solid. That is where the positive comments end. The rest of the box very shabbily constructed. Mine arrived with the middle piece (guitar neck rest) broken off. It looks as if it was only attached with glue! I expected the inside of the box to covered in velvet or fabric similar to the inside of a guitar case. It was unfinished wood painted black, with ends of screws poking through. The pieces of wood that make up the compartments and flaps were barely holding together, and did not even seem to be cut with any precision. The Core Equipment Tech Box Guitar Workstation resembles a high school shop project, and not a professional tech box. This box is an over priced piece of poor craftsmanship and hasty assembly!
Great item, but has a few flaws. First, I have used the case a lot since owning it and I have had zero problems so far. The entire case could have been built with tougher hardware and support. The inside area that holds your misc. guitar products could have been better if a latch or lock were installed instead of velcro to hold the lids down. Overall, very happy and recommend this item, but if you plan on being rough and throw it around, I would pass.
Great idea and great exterior, but not well made. This is a great concept the idea is superb and the case exterior is very well made and solid. That said the interior is poorly fit and poorly made with poor construction and finish. I ended up basically gutting the box and building the interior the way it should have been done in the first place, for the cost they should have done a better job and used at least decent materials.
I had to customize my case to make it the way I wanted it. But overall the case is the same as a road case and the foam is nice too. It is very solid. I am guessing it will last a long time. I added some more dividers inside, the walls are plywood so I just glued and nailed them in place. The best thing is that there is a lot of space inside I can fit every tool, string and gadget I own to work on my guitars...
