I tried some weird aluminum pick in the past and I just hated it. The Cymbolic Guitar Pick has a great tone and a great feel. That was the thing I hated about the aluminum pick I tried before. It just felt terrible. Because they are metal they have some bite to them but at the same time are very round and warm sounding because of the brass--which is a warm sounding metal. I have been using yellow Tortex picks for about 18 years and I may have found something to replace my old picks with.

Bought this looking for a bright tonal quality against my metal strings. It's bright, alright, but the gold paint flecks off the tip immediately all over my instrument, and I don't like the feel of it--too much vibration. If you want an even brighter sound with a much more responsive feel, get a Dava Master Control Pick instead.

Great tone.

I love this pick! I have a thin one, and the metallic twang is awesome! I really love the sound it makes on my Daddy Mojo CBG. A must for fans of twangy sound!

Life

This one's a keeper. Great qualities that earn ratings in tonal quality, performance, and features. Whether I'm live or in my studio, you better believe it's what I'm using!

Consistent

By J Toulouse

from ABQ, NM

I love this pick. Have had the same one for a year and it is worn into a nice point. The tone is consistent, the feel is consistent, it is just great. It takes less effort to pick in any direction and gives you more control. I cannot recommend it enough for any established player. the only downside is that as it wears, the enamel flakes off and I have had to scrape it away. I don't break strings with it and I pick pretty hard.

BANG for the buck

By Rainman-dl9r4

from Montana (orig fro Louisiana)

It IS harder on strings but OH THE PAYOFF. I am with the one that states they won't go back to plastic with the possible exception of simplr rhythm background. This is NOT for the beginner player but if you are accomplished and are looking for speed and agility especially in lead acoustic picking THERE IS NONE BETTER that I have found. I had one that is still SOMEWHERE but I had guest IN and now my pick is OUT. Oh well. Thank God for more.

GREAT pick

By Squireonfire08

from Brownsburg, IN

This pick is awesome. That's all I can say. I love power chords, and with plastic picks I would drop them, or they would slow me down, because they were just too light. Then I picked up the Cymbolic and the power and the crunch just flew from my fingers. I found myself buying them for my friends because I wanted them to have the same playing experience that I did. The brass color wears off eventually, but combined with the ridges it looks really cool.

Great product!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I have used these picks I think since they were introduced a number of years ago. They give a more defined tone and feel cool to the touch. They also do not seem to get sharp but after a few years may need replaced because the surface gets a bit rough. Only pick I use. Great product!!

The last pick you'll ever buy....literally

By RedNeck-3zMLJ

from the horrid state of Ohio

Let me start this off by saying that I have been using the same pick for about 7 years now. it's way more than paid for itself. I like heavy picks, it's definitely heavy... the best pick to learn artificial harmonics on because it's so smooth, takes away some of the "tinniness" of standard plastics and makes clean playing fluid and smooth. I swear by these picks, just remember to buy a few of them because you WILL lose one.

Cymbolic Pick - (Brass like a drummers cymbal)

By 6mz23hRjq

from Sabinal,Texas.

This Guitar pick is the best pick I've ever had! At first it's difficult to get used to, but after you've had it and used it a few days, you notice sounds (electric guitar) that it can make, that you've not been able to do before, especially when you "ring it" playing the notes. also you can make different sounds if you tap the string (close to the pickups) lightly with this pick.
