Thes strings are the real deal ! I used to play Ernie Ball Slinkies, boom outa here! I tried Boomer's, no way. I tried several others and NONE have stood up to these strings. I play 13-56 on my B tunings and use 12-52 on my D drop tune guitars. I play professional with 4 CD releases and have no problems with tuning, tone or durability. Now if I can only get a sponsorship. LOL Overall, you get your monies worth when you pay the extra buck or two.

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I play hardcore/metal and I detune my Strat down to drop B (B-Gb-B-F-Ab-Db) and after some experimentation I chose these strings for a couple reasons. First, since the tuning is so low I must have a thicker string so they stay tight enough so as not to change tone when you vary pressure. The thinckness also beefens up the sound of my single coil Strat running on lead pickup. Also tuning. Ive found that a lesser set tends to go out of tune frequently, these dont. I did have to slightly cut the nut on the E and A to accomodate them but this was simple and didnt screw anything up. If you detune, or just want a thicker string or sound these strings do the job beautifully without being so thick they are hard to play. Try it out, I think youll be suprised.

These strings are amazing for heavy/death metal. It kills the sharp eeryness that other strings give. Excellent for Drop B tuning.

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Who woulda thunk it? After months of trying different bronze strings on my Martin guitar, I put the D'Addario EJ22 nickels on it. They are perfect: clean, uncluttered sound without overtones. I play finger-style and these strings are just astonishing.

For Everything, Not Just For Jazz

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

One of the best guitar related items I've bought since my '62 Strat and a whole lot cheaper. I found a rich and fully enhanced playing experience from trying these strings... Tactile yet surprisingly smooth... I will not go back to other strings. (but if you just don't want to go quite that low you might try the sightly lighter EJ21's which go from .12-.52)

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I play short scale guitars. I have an epiphone explorer (24.75) and an Ibanez Art100 (24.7). For the longest time ive been wanting a string set where i could tune to drop c and drop b with out having floppy lower strings. These are perfect. D'addarios have a higher tension than most other string brands, so they hold up well. Just be cautios, if you are a lead player like me, the e, b, and g strings will take some getting used to because they are a little thick. But these are perfect if youre primarly a rhythm player.

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

When I finally bumped my string gauges up to 13's, these were the first ones I tried out on a Goth Epiphone Explorer. These strings held up to brutal punishment, and sounded fantastic. My only complaint is that they are all packaged in a single bag. I no longer use these strings, but they are awesome none the less.

Slapped the jazz strings on my Telecaster, tuned down to C and got a great ersatz baritone sound. Just the strings I was looking for.

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

These are heavy strings but, have great tone for a long time. Would be nice if this set came with a plain 3rd instead of wound 3rd string, which can be purchased at this site. .022 plain is a nice replacement for the .026 wound. Tried many other brands but none keep their tone as long as D'addarios.

i've been a pro musician for over 40 years. d'addario's are strung on all my guitars except my gypsies. i tried a number of various brands earlier on in my career and had found d'addario's to be of consistant quality, so i stayed with them throughout the years.

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I haven't used D'Addario strings in over 20 years because I kept getting dead "D" strings in my sets 10's, right out of the box. I've been using SIT Strings exclusively for all of guitars, with great results.
Unfortunately, I've recently picked up an Epiphone Regent Deluxe with a frequensator tailpiece and my SIT's wheren't long enough on the bass side so I went with the D'Addario's and they seem just fine.

I re-stringed my strat (c/w super bullets) with these babies. They sound a hell of a lot nicer than the super bullets. I will not be going back to fender!

Comments about D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are great. They increase the sustain and sound spectacular. I put them on my fender strat. I did widen the slots in the nut to accomadate these strings. It wasn't difficult, I just used a box cutter and lightly scraped the inside of the slots until each string fit.
