Comments about D'Addario EJ36 12-String 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

D'Addario stings are excellent and MF has them at a great price. They give consistent tone quality and remain in tune as well as or better than most others.

2 things D'Addario does with these strings make life easier for musician's.

First off they color code the ball ends to make it super simple getting the correct string in the correct spot when re-stringing your guitar. This is a nice feature on a 6 stringer--but on a 12 string guitar it's absolutely essential.

Secondly, they seal each set in an air proof, moisture proof plastic bag. This eliminates any issues with corrosion. In fact, a person can buy these strings when they go on sale, and use them a year later with no concerns about corrosion--knowing that because of this packaging they will still be factory fresh. An excellent idea.

Martin also makes great strings, but they would help their "brand" if they would follow suit on these 2 important points.

While many acoustic players have gone with Phosphor/Bronze strings, I've found that both my Martin HD35 and my Breedlove 12 string "came alive" once I switched to 80/20 strings.

Some claim that PB's will outlast 80/20's every time. While I've not found this to be the case, even if it were true, it's sound quality I value above all else, and these strings deliver that. Well done D'Addario!!

Comments about D'Addario EJ36 12-String 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I tried 2 different brands of 80/20 strings on my Yamaha fg720S guitar, this and Ernie Ball Earthwound 80/20 9-46. They sound different but not so much that I could explain to you. Different but both sound great. They're both loud and bright. I don't know how long the Ernie Balls will last but these D'addarios lasted about 20 hours of playing time. For me that's long life. Didn't break or rust which I never had a rust problem. I wash my hands before playing and clean my strings with rubbing alcohol after every 5 hours of playing.
