Many people would never think of putting a set of 9s on a 12 string, but even on an inexpensive Rogue they really sing. I played the strings that came on the guitar, tried these 9s, tried a set of 12s tuned down, and wound up back with these strings. They are easy to play, even when tuned to concert pitch, and unlike heavy strings leave enough room to be fingerpicked. One word of caution -- D'Addario does not name their strings like others, and their gauges, overall, tend to be a bit lighter. Most extra lights from other manufacturers are heavier (10s).

I enjoy shopping at Musicians Friend, but lately there have been issues with my Musicians Friend card when placing my orders. There is a section on the Musicians Friend website to ask about the credit card but after you send an email, they basically just refer you to the credit card company. What a waste of time. This resulted in some duplicate shipments for me after I received notification that my credit card was declined because I ordered the item with another credit card. I think I will just pay a little more in the future and go with a company that can take care of me. I can recommend the strings but I cannot recommend the company.

Comments about D'Addario EJ41 12-String Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've been playing for more than 40yrs. Just in the last 2 years I decided to add a 12 string to my playing. After playing 6 string electrics for a long time and, I might add that I am not a heavy handed player, light guage strings, light picks and, finesse type playing, adapting to an acoustic electric 12 string that had heavier guage strings wasn't the easiest thing to get used to. Finally I found these strings and, everything just became so much easier. I'm loving my 12 string and, these strings have made all the difference in the world! As a few other reviews have stated hard picking and hard strumming are not what these are made for. Try these if this sounds good to you. You'll love em and, so will your guitar.

These strings have great tone on my Ibanez 12 string that is run through a Zoom A2 guitar processor! My last set lasted almost 10 months of gigging at least twice a week. Nice price, last a long time!

Smaller E string helps playability and gives the sound I like. Just had my Luthier install a K&K pickup, bone on the nut and saddle, and dress the fretts. My Ovation has always sounded good;now it's even better.I feel the strings make a huge difference especially when I play through the amps and pedals. Almost Angelic! Gotta try em!

Comments about D'Addario EJ41 12-String Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I play in a small church ban. Decided to tune my Takamine Jumbo 12 up to concert pitch to simplify playing w/ other guitarist, so thought I'd try these extra-lights. Much easier on the left-hand, especially in first-position. Good for finger-picking, but also handle flat-picking and moderate strumming as well. Nice clean sound, great highs, but the jumbo body still pulls out nice full sound from the low strings - still get that nice bottom in drop-D, for ex. Last pretty well even with daily playing - though I would never go 10 months like someone here claims! 2 months is about what I usually do - but, I like that nice clean "new string" sound.

I recently bought a electric twelve guitar, and was looking for some strings with good tone in a lighter gauge string. These strings have excellent tone, are easy to play and sound great on my Epiphone G1275. Very pleased.

I have a 12 string acoustic. Buying strings should not be a challenge. I went to a few local brick and mortar stores and couldn't find extra light strings. Musician's Friend had them in stock and for a good price. Shipping was really fast. I will definitely order strings again.

Strings are very personal. They should fit technique whether on a shredder's electric or a booming dreadnaught. I'm a very light fingerpicker. As noted by others, these are lighter than most 12-string sets. Basically they're the gauges I use on my fingerpicking six-strings, flattop, archtop electric or semi-hollows.

Any 12-string set will also bring somewhat different left hand technique. At standard pitch or my preferred "down a full tone" to D, these not only finger well, but they allow much more left hand work than heavier strings.

They're not, however, at all a good match for the heavier flatpick strumming player. With a decently low action and beating up the strings, they'll buzz far more easily. Don't beat on these; caress them as though on a nylon-string classical guitar playing a bit of Bach - even if it's Stack-o-Lee.

I have a 1968 guild F112. Magic guitar. The master luthier who set it up in 1970 said "don't use any other strings". La Bella light guage silk and steel. A match made in heaven. However, being hard to find and expensive and only last 2-3 weeks max, I finally started to look (after 40 years) for new strings. Tried them all. No luck until now. Who would have thought .009 works! The D'Addario EJ41's have the balanced tone of phosphor bronze, shimmering highs, and playability I need. Very responsive. Not for the heavy strummer on a big box 12, but if you are an articulate player and want overtones like a harpsichord, try these.
