Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

I tried these D'Addario EJ45LP lightly polished strings as an alternative to the Savarez 520 red card strings I've been using for a while now. I find that the polishing of the wound strings does indeed reduce, but not eliminate, the string squeak of other unpolished wound strings. My Savarez 520's, in particular, are know for this unfortunate byproduct of my playing. I have used both of the included "G" strings included with this set and prefer the composite string as its tone seems to offer a more balanced 6-string set. As for a comparison of the tonal qualities of this set, relative to Savarez 520's: I believe the Savarez strings produce a slightly more lively tonal pallet with a "fresher" sound to the trebles. However, the string noise that accompanies the use of Savarez wound strings has become increasingly problematic for me. SOME string squeak is inevitable with would strings, of course, but I appreciate the fact that light polishing seems to reduce this squeak substantially. As for longevity, I'm finding that these EJ45LP's last longer than the Savarez 520's before losing their liveliness. They're definitely worth a try.

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

I have rated these strings (D'Addario EJ45LP) highly in the past and continue to use and enjoy them, but the composite 3rd (G) string with the last two sets has played sharp. I actually like the composite better than the nylon (both are supplied in each set), but have been unable to use the composite version in the last two restringings. The composite holds its pitch better as temperatures change, is less of an escape artist than the nylon, and I think has a more beautiful tone. But intonation is a problem.

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

These are terrific strings. Visit the D'addario web site to learn all about them. I play a Carvin CL450 and it is as if the strings were custom made for the guitar. I highly recommend them.

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

I play on the average 2.5 hours daily and these strings last about two months, or 150 hours. The trebles sing. I use the optional composite "G" and there is excellent balance across the range.

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

I put these on my 3/4 size Cordoba C3M Cadete. The tension is perfect for a 3/4 size guitar (doesn't feel too stiff). Once the strings settle in, they stay in tune and sound excellent. It really made my tone come alive. Also, one thing that bugs me about classical guitar is that when you are running up a scale, the huge difference in tone between the wound strings and the unwound strings sounds odd. This set includes 2 G strings. A regular nylon one and a composite one. The composite G string is awesome and has a tonal quality that is in between the wound strings and the nylons. It makes the notes of your scales blend better. I highly recommend these, they are definitely worth the price, and I don't think I'll be using anything else from now on.

          Actually Do Last

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

Brilliant and warm strings. A delight to play. The package says "Guaranteed to last 2-3 times longer" and they truly do. I am impressed. I have had three sets and I know it is time to change when the composite G string goes. I seems to suddenly lose it - won't stay in tune, sounds dull. But that only after a long time.

Comments about D'Addario EJ45LP Pro-Arte Composites Normal LP Classical Guitar Strings:

I play pop, jazz, classical, and rock on a flamenco guitar. Last night was the maiden voyage for these strings and I was amazed at the tone and responsiveness. They sound lush, clear, bright not too squeaky. Too soon to know how long they will actually last so I gave them a 4 for value. While string selection is an individual choice, I'd say that they're certainly worth a try. I'm sold!
