I tried a set of flat wound chromes on my Warwick 92 model James Earl Streamer and I liked what I got in the feel & sound and like it so well I got another set of extra lights and put them on my Rickenbacker 4003 but they were a little to dull in the high end for the Rick so I tried these half rounds and was very surprised because I got the high end bite like the Rotosound strings but the feel close to the chromes. I was able to lower the action big time on my Rick without any fret buzz and the smooth feel is really cool and easy on the fingers.

If you try these I would suggest going with a lighter guage than you normally use because these strings have a more solid feel and to me and the medium lights felt like a medium guage. Very easy to bend notes and slap is cool with a real Motown vibe.

Try a set next time you change strings and get a very cool surprise.
Lets all say smoooooth feel with killer tone!
Nice smooth finish but I do not like color wraps they don't work with all bass finishes. My Rick bass is black so this wrap works color wise but I tend to look for stings without color wraps for cosmetic reasons.
These strings have lasted longer and kept a good tone better than any other string I have used.

Sound dead

I took these right back off of my bass. They sound more like flatwound strings.

Comments about D'Addario ENR70 Half Rounds Bass Strings Super Lt Long Scale:

These strings are perfect for my '51 reissue Precision Bass. They are not nearly as "twangy" as nickel plated round-wound strings, but I prefer the "thumpy" sound they provide over the "twangy" sound mentioned above. They feel smooth, but they are not. Turning the tone knob all the way up does give some brightness if you want it, but these strings have a nice deep tone, the way I like it.

Comments about D'Addario ENR70 Half Rounds Bass Strings Super Lt Long Scale:

I've used these strings since they were first introduced in the 1970's. Other strings I've tried may have been brighter, but these have the best combination of characteristics that I want-good sound, and life, and very easy on both fingers and frets.

I have been using Daddario half rounds for many years. They play like a round wound but feel like a flatround. They are the best string I have ever used since I started out over 50 years ago.

Comments about D'Addario ENR70 Half Rounds Bass Strings Super Lt Long Scale:

After years of using roundwounds on my fretless Aria, I had to do some minor sanding on my fingerboard from the wear. I put the D'Addario Half Rounds on and what a cool sound on this bass now! Not as bright as I thought however the tone on this bass is really cool now, and no more wear from the round wounds.

Finally I can hear clearly all the nauances from my fretless and all the different tones from my double bucker bass without string noise. Is awesome! I've used other strings from them but these give me the sound, tone and easy feeling I was longing for. Great strings!

These strings are great for guitarists switching off on bass, because they reduce string noise and fatigue. they still have a good sound, and are brighter than flat-wounds. I have them on 3 of my 4 basses..GET'M SOON!

For Acoustic bass, these are fantastic. No string talk or fret buzz. Piano string like tones and very flexible. Well worth trying. Liked the light gauge better than the heavier gauge(ENR71's)

Comments about D'Addario ENR70 Half Rounds Bass Strings Super Lt Long Scale:

These strings produce a very mellow tone, but remain very clear. They feel great, and play great especially with fast, low action basses. Because the strings are not too dead, and not very bright I'd recommend these strings to anyone who wanders in and out different styles of music.
