D'Addario Pure Nickle Strings EPN22's

By Kevin Wilson

from Central Coast California

Comments about D'Addario EPN22 Pure Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

A heavier string will sound better in every way. I really appreciate the packaging of these strings for they are sealed in a corrosion inhibiting plastic bag. This is very important because I buy strings in bulk and my playing style includes heavy hard playing. My dynamics vary greatly and these strings work extremely well.
A great set of strings for my arch-top. This medium set is great for chord playing and lead work. After trying out the original strings on this guitar it was lacking in attack, sustain, volume and tonality. A lighter gauge string doesn't have the mass needed for the pick-ups to give it that punch and sustain.
In a recording studio environment, you need all your guitars sounding there best. These pure nickel strings are super. I use D'Addario strings on all of my guitars acoustic and electric. You learn a lot if you keep playing and don't stop. After 41 years of jammin' I'd like to say, thanks D'Addario you make great strings.

Comments about D'Addario EPN22 Pure Nickel Jazz Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Moving from 0.12's nickel plated steel to these pure nickel 0.13's made my Godin Kingpin come alive both acoustic and plugged in. It takes the extra mass of the strings to drive these plywood archtops. I pick hard with a thick thumb pick and unplugged these nickel strings just sing with a warm punchy tone. Through an amp the mass of the nickel 0.13's on the field of a p-90 produces that 50's tone on the old records. If you tried flatwounds on your arch top and thought they sounded dull try these.
