Dont buy these

By phred754

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Just put these on a les paul and because of the rough texture of strings, within an hour of playing there were noticable marks on the frets. THESE STRINGS DESTROY YOUR FRETS. great tone though, just cant afford to do a refret job anytime soon so I will keep away from these.

D'Addarrio EPS510 ProSteels - Worst of the Worst

By Carl Stover

from WV

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been a musician for 45 years. I got these strings to prepare for recording, but these are the worst strings I've ever installed. Terrible tinny tone which rings disgusting harmonic frequencies. The previous 6 month old set of D'Addarrio EXL110-3D sound 10x better and still have great tone. The wound strings in this miserable set have a horrible rough texture which make it impossible to slide your finger on the string. I think I'll take sandpaper to my old strings from now on to get more life out of them. If you want beautiful sounding strings (but only if your guitar is set up for tone), get the D'Addarrio EXL110-3D instead of these bummers. Special alloys here are apparently tin and plastic in this reviewed set.

Great Strings

By JumpyMcHop

from Santa Barbara, CA

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Got these last night and after an hour or two of jamming, I have to say that I love these strings. They have a grate tone: a nice high sparkle without being obnoxious and twangy and the lows have a good amount of punch. My one complaint is that I didn't get 11's and these have a little too much tension, but I guess that's my fault, not the string's.

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I just bought a few sets of these the other day and up until then I bought "strings were just strings" and I was wrong! I normally purchase earnie ball 10-46s and these were on sale so I decided to give them a try and they sound and feel great. I strung up my ltd f-400 with them and felt like I was never going to set it down again. They are awesome distorted or clean and they have sort of a rough texture on the wound strings that gives me better accuracy on the fret board. I am pretty sure I am going to go with these from now on. If you want some killer strings buy these and be amazed!

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I'e been using these strings as long as they've been around! They have a bright sound and stay newer-sounding longer than nickel-wound strings. They are the best strings for triggering MIDI pickups.

Keeps plenty of bite for the pickups, very bright and snappy even when the newness wears off.
      Very dynamic.

Comments about D'Addario EPS510 ProSteels Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Best strings ever IMO. Brightest tone. Doesn't lose tone as it ages. No nano-coating to peel off. I've been using the same set for a year on my LP.
Yes, the wound strings are rougher than nickel. Doesn't bother me.
Yes, steel is harder than nickel (commonly used for fretwire) so if you do constant bends and grind the string into the frets, they will wear out. My solution for this is to take your guitar in and have it refretted with stainless steel frets.

ALL STRINGS SHOULD BE MADE OUT OF PURE STEEL!!
