Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I have struggled to find a string that stays in tune on my Gibson Les Paul, this one does! The sound is strong and they are still bendable, although you will notice the difference between these and 10's. However you will get used to these quickly and will love the tone and staying in tune. They also will tune to Eb or open D tuning and then go back to standard tuning and still perform.

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I mostly play R&B and Blues. Essentially, I am rhythm player. With the exception of a few 8 to 24 bar solos, I am not the center of attention. When I'm front and center I still need to sound good. These strings help.

These strings are awesome. The tone is amazing. Occasionally, I have to tune down one-half step. These strings are one of the few that will work well in both standard and dropped tunings.

If the guitar is set up correctly, these strings aren't an issue. This means a very low action isn't going to happen. Medium strings work with medium action. If the action is too low for the string gauge, your guitar will buzz and become uncomfortable.

Since more metal will drive your magnets with more oomph, using slightly heavier strings is a very cost effective way to improve your tone.

I've been usinging EXL115 strings and their less eco-frinedly packaged predecessor XL115 since the late 1980s. I've tried other brands with exactly the same gauge. These typically worked as well for slightly more money, and I suspect that they where cranked out of the same factory.

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I've been using D'Addario since I was a kid. Now that I'm a more experienced player I find my strings lasting a LONG time. I can keep my strings on for a good couple of months of playing sometimes and they do well through the whole spectrum. I do a lot of hard bending and they just take it. Usually by the time I feel like I need to change my strings all of the treble side strings are fully dented from the frets all the way up the string, and I could still get some playing out of them. They keep their tone for a long time, and after the initial stretch they are very stable in tuning. I've tried several of the other popular brands and was let down by the quality and life.

Some other brands I've tried start out so bright I find myself having to change amplifier settings to roll it off, but then they darken up real bad. No such problems exist with D'Addarios. Sure their tone changes during their life, but it's a much smaller shift than other strings I've tried. E.B. might as well not exist as far as I'm concerned. Several other brands, too.

I've gravitated towards the EXL115's in the last few years because I feel like they're one of the most balanced sets. Having that thicker .011 E string and the standard .049 Bass E just keeps things nicely balanced. I play everything, too. Blues, Rock, Hard Rock, Country pickin...you name it I dabble in it. These strings do it all without issue.

The only thing driving me nuts is someone decided that it would be a good idea to wind them up in sets of 2 now (Example the E/A, D/G, B/E) which I hate because I have a certain way I usually string my guitars out of habit and it isn't in sets like that. That's a dumb problem, I know. Blame it on my OCD. Really that's my only gripe and it's barely even that.

I have been using these strings for 10 years. They never fail. I play lower tunings anywhere from dropped D down to C standard. I can't say enough good things about these strings. I will continue to buy these for as long as they produce them.

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I love these strings and have used them for a couple of years because they're cheap and sound great. I frequently break the 6th string but i guess that could just be due to my playing style. I prefer these strings for dropped tunings when playing experimental rock/jazz/metal.

These roundwound nickel plated steel strings have awesome tone. I play jazz on a strat with a maple neck and I like my tone as bright as possible without being twangy. These strings give me exactly that. I also like the tention of the 11s- high enough for strong single note lines but relaxed enough for bending and playing chords easily.

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I used to play .11's when I was a kid, thinking that this is what the greats played and I just needed to get stronger hands. Well, I eventually figured out that the people who play these strings usually tune down 1/2 step, or at least that's what works for me. If you play .10's but want to improve your slide tone and playability, or just want to tune down you can usually just put these strings on without adjusting the action and they will work perfectly. I know this sounds very obvious to some people, but it took me 15 years to really figure out what these strings are for! Maybe I can help a young grom learn the ways of the Jedi a bit sooner...

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

I use these on my Taylor T5 Custom. They are thin enough to get some great bends and save your fingertips, while being thick enough to stay in tune and give a thick tone when you're strumming chords. They corrode pretty quick, so remember to wipe them down often.

Comments about D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings 3-Pack:

              I strung my Washburn semi-acoustic with a set of these D'Addario blues/jazz/rock .011--.049
strings replacing bronze wound acoustic strings. Totally Awesome!!! The third (G) string is plain
not wound which I like. The sound and playability is beyond expectation. Clean, bright and very
bendable.Highly recommend you try them for yourself. Glad I purchased a 3 pack.
