Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

D'Addario is the most consistent brand of strings I've used. They don't break. I tune in variations of E standard with this set of strings, I prefer Heavy gauge strings for everything I do. E standard, drop D, B(BADGBE), DADGAG. etc.

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

I have played in drop C for years and could not find the right strings that gave me everything I needed. I used ghs boomer Zack Wylde's until these came out, ever since I tried the 117's I have been hooked. Not too loose or tight on the top or the bottom, just right.

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

Put these on an ES335 and a full body, f-holed, and single cutaway electric guitar. Was able to lower the action on both guitars due to the heavier gauge of the bottom strings. Faster play, but I can still bend the strings if I need to.

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought these strings since I needed the extra tension and it works. I got the down to drop A# without them getting to floppy.

i have been using these for a while on my RG in drop C and i went to the next heavier set of strings and they were waaaay to heavy, stick with these in drop C and you will be happy. the tension is to high for drop D for me.

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

These string are amazing, I play in C# Standard playing songs from band like Dying Fetus, and Suffocation etc.The guitar I use is Esp/Ltd mh-1000.The lowest I would tune these is B standard maybe drop A, personalty its to loose at drop A but barley enough for B Standard, the highest I would tune with these is D standard they are pretty tight but not to tight. These strings never break, they just get to old and I have to change them. But after awhile the G string has trouble staying in tune, but when you get to the point when it isn't staying you probably should have changed them arleady.

EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

I like these strings and have nothing bad to say. They stay in tune, they intonate great, and they sound great.
The perfect set of strings for tuning in B.
These strings intonate better than any strings i have used tuning in B.
I buy these strings only from Musicians Friend, they have the best price. They are definitely worth the money.

Comments about D'Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom, Nickel-Wound Electric Guitar Strings:

Why isn't this set more popular? If you use a Drop C or Drop B tuning, these are your strings. There is still very nice string tension and no flop without feeling like you are playing piano wire. Get these.

Strung a set of these on my Hellraiser about a week ago, and they work great. Been trying to find a set of strings that works in any tuning from standard to Drop B and lower, and these are perfect.
