I bought these strings a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love them. I have tried pretty much all brands of strings out there, and until just recently used Dean Markley strings exclusively. I figured I would give these a try. I have always had trouble with my guitar strings getting a sticky feel to them after a few days of use. These strings have remained with a nice slick feel since putting them on a Les Paul and a Fender Stratocaster. They have a great sound that is not too bright. They sound super on bridge position with distortion, and neck position for smooth solo playing. I will continue to buy these for my four guitars along with the Dean Markleys. Give them a try if you are considering a different guitar string brand.

I have been having problems with the EXL 120s lately, especially on my Les Paul and '61 reissue LP SG. Those two instruments have been rock solid in tunign for years. Both have TonePros System 2 TOM and aluminum stop bar. Could not maintain tuning in either instrument, especially low E, D, and G strings. Tuning machines are Grover Klusons 18:1 too. I have a rack test instrument with no pups to see if I was doing something wrong, but found by slightly overwinding that they come apart at the ball end, and pretty easily too. Went to Ernie Ball Stainless, and problem is solved. Don't see how D'addario can claim "consistent quality and intonation" when they won't stay in tune in the first place. Cheap strings=headaches. Don't buy them.

Tough and Easily played

Comments about D'Addario EXL120 Nickel Super Light Electric Guitar Strings (3-Pack):

My freind recomended these to me because they are strong and the easy to play and they really are!. I play for a few hours each day and they're the only strings that have lasted for a few weeks despite the abuse that I give them. These strings are also easy to use. They bend easily and they stay in tune. When you first put them on and tune them, they may get a little out of tune but thats because they have to adjust, but after that they stay in tune. For me they useally last 2-3 weeks which is longer than any other strings I've used. I Play a lot of heavy AC/DC type stuff so I bend a lot and they still work when I'm done.

Comments about D'Addario EXL120 Nickel Super Light Electric Guitar Strings (3-Pack):

I'm a second generation user of D'Addario strings. They are long lasting, have GREAT tone, and affordable. I simply would not use any other string on any of my guitars, and I have tried just about all of them. If you need affordable great sounding strings, you can't go wrong with D'Addario.
Bright tones
Long lasting
Best bang for your buck, period.

Great

Comments about D'Addario EXL120 Nickel Super Light Electric Guitar Strings (3-Pack):

These Strings are great for all around playing. I have used a varity of strings including Elixir poly and nanoweb, and now lean to D'addario because of their nice tone, life and the price dosn't break the bank. If youbuy the ten pack you will save lots of money over all, do the math if you must. If you have never used them, and are afraid of buying strings you don't like go for the three pack.

I was having a problem with the E6 string breaking frequently during tuning on the previous brand I was using. So far I have not encountered that problem with these strings.

I've used the EXL120's on my moderately modified Stratocrapper budget model for probably 20 years. There's a reason for that...they have a nice tone, they stay relatively clean and they're not super expensive.

Install through little holes in bridge in proper order; attach to tuner pegs; tighten to proper tension to produce desired vibration frequency. Pluck for approximately 25 hours or until one fails and repeat process.

There may be better, there may be worse. All I know is that whenever I ask someone who should know, they always recommend these. And I must like them since I seem to just keep buying them.

I've used D'Add EXL120 and EXL110 strings consistently since the 70's, and see no reason to change. IMO, you can't get any better strings for the money.
