Comments about D'Addario EXL130+ Nickel XL Electric Guitar Strings:

I have always used 8s. I wanted something that is a bit heavier than 8s because one of the drawbacks of 8s is that you loose a bit of volume. I tried 9s but it was not completely satisfying...I found this while surfing this website and thought I should give it a try. This is exactly what I wanted, the exact balance between 8s and 9s. I plan to get more of these...D'Addario should come out with an economy pack of 0.085s.

Comments about D'Addario EXL130+ Nickel XL Electric Guitar Strings:

I've used these strings for years now and have gotten used to them. Great sound.
When I contacted Musician's Friend that I was short due to an open seam in the shipping box, they sent me them right away! Such an honorable company to do so.
I like the 8.5's. Not too light, just slightly less than 9s and they sound excellent. The packing is out of this world. I live in Hawaii where everything rust. Sealed in plastic until you're ready to use them is a great idea. I have sets that are over a year old and still pristine.
rightly priced

Comments about D'Addario EXL130+ Nickel XL Electric Guitar Strings:

Switched from EB 9s to these and haven't looked back. Sound great, easy on the fingers, and long lasting. Using them on an SVK Les Paul standard and a G&L Legacy. Been using them for months fairly regularly and have had only one break. I don't play live but I have no doubt that these would be fine.

Comments about D'Addario EXL130+ Nickel XL Electric Guitar Strings:

After using 10 gauge sets for 40 plus years on the "casters"
the need for a lighter gauge for the "seasoned" (O K _ older) performer to maintain consistency of playing proficiency was becoming apparent. As BB King told Billy Gibbons years ago "you're working too hard with those heavy strings son".
Billy uses 8 gauge sets which I find too light for "casters" but appropriate for Shorter scale length.
The 8.5 is a good choice for me and the Brand has always served me good for what I require out of the "casters"
i do have a favorite brand for the Gibsons and Rickt's--sorry XL camp. You're still getting my $$$ as I have more "casters" than Gibson's
