Lowest string won't work on a 28" scale

Comments about D'Addario EXL140 Light Top Heavy/Bottom 8-String Electric Guitar Strings:

Tried putting these on a Schecter SLS C-8 EX. The taper doesn't go back far enough on the lowest string (F# for me) and makes it unusuable on a 28" scale.

Comments about D'Addario EXL140 Light Top Heavy/Bottom 8-String Electric Guitar Strings:

Ive been bouncing back and forth from these and the ernie ball 8 set. I think the D'add's have a crisper tone and the light top heavy bottoms have a good feel. im not sure if its because of summer or the stings themselves, but these stings seem to oxidize quicker. the ernie balls stay newer longer. I guess it boils down to preference. Ernie balls if you like slinky, d'adds for a good tight string crisper sound. i recommend them both. and they fit my agile baritone!

Not a lot I can say for these .. bought this set for my 7 string to play it in drop F works fine .
Havnt giged a whole lot with this particular set as the bands Im in are still in the land before time. With the 6s but they do get played and I like em , my own issue I probably should just buy an 8 just cant find one I really like

Comments about D'Addario EXL140 Light Top Heavy/Bottom 8-String Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings work great for 8 string standard and half step down! Unless you're running a 28" scale or longer, I wouldn't recommend taking the .074 down to E, however.

Comments about D'Addario EXL140 Light Top Heavy/Bottom 8-String Electric Guitar Strings:

Bought a set of these when I purchased my Ibanez RG8 (which already came with D'Addario 9-64's on it) The heavier gage had more of a new bass string sound on the low end making it bright and punch but at the same time kept the high end nice and tight. I've read reviews of these string not working for the 28" neck and I cannot verify that but I know for the wizard ii neck thats on my RG now they fit just fine, only having to barely shave the nut.

Comments about D'Addario EXL140 Light Top Heavy/Bottom 8-String Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are great for a nice tight tone. My 8 string came with light guage strings and I like to tune the F# to E and the low string was very floppy and unauditable. These thicker strings work great for it. The low string is a lot tighter and clearer sounding. Works great with 25.5 inch scale.
