Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

These heavy guage strings are elevator cables for sure, but they are very high quality. The heavy guage eliminates buzzing since they sit higher on the nut, but they're like playing an acoustic. Bends are harder but hey have a more meaty feel. Great sound. Phil Collen of Def Lepaprd uses these same strings. Only complaint is how theyre wound in the package- strings are all wound together in one coil (not individual envelopes) and they're grouped in pairs, so when you unwind you get two strings flopping out at the same time. I find this a little less convennient. But the balls are color coded which is slightly handy I guess. And they're priced VERY well for the level of quality. Will buy again, especially at the industry standard low price point- I can't list a price here, but they're pleasantly inexpensive. (Non-calloused fingers beware, lol)

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are excellent for guitars set-up exclusively for slide. The gauge(s) are thicker and robust, resulting in better slide tone/sustain no matter what type of slide you may be using. If you are looking for a set of strings for your dedicated slide set-up look no further!

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

After 30 years of playing and recording, I keep coming back to D'Addario. I've tried many brands in just about every gauge, there's just something about D'Addario. The tone lasts a little longer and they rarely break. The EXL145 strings are currently being used for C standard tuning. In my opinion, these are the lightest possible strings for this tuning. It also works perfectly in C# standard. Do not use for Baritone (B Standard).

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

I use these on a Strat-copy for open G slide guitar. I wanted them for their heavier weight, but, more specifically, it was the heaviest set I could find with an unwound, plain G string (.20). The set as a whole has a lot of metal and heft to it, which makes the slide sit on top of the strings without ever touching a fret. Also, I don't use the low E string, which is unnecessarily large for an electric slide guitar at .054. The A string at .042 is closer to an E on a typical set of 9s or 10s—just right for slide and, I'm guessing, meeting with Keef's approval.

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

I broke down and tuned to down a half step with these.
I hear a massive difference with these, and for good reason.

More mass, more power, more sustain. More Steel.

These are more work to play on, no doubt. Harder to bend for sure.

I imagine if you play on these for a week you'll have massive strength if you go back to a lighter gague.

I dig em'. Very loud and power. not for the faint of heart.

These strings will make you strong.

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

So far these have been the best strings I have ever used (out of Dunlop Heavy Cores, Ernie Ball Slinkies, Fender Bullets, GHS Boomers, GFS Strings, Elixirs, and maybe a few others).
When I first put them on and started playing, I immediately noticed how nice they felt. Very slick and strong at the same time. They sound(ed) great and I still have them on my guitar since I put them on about 6+ months ago.
They have a great high-quality to low-price ratio.

            A must have

Comments about D'Addario EXL145 Electric Guitar Strings:

These are for you if you tune lower than D or even C, their loud , their built to last , their cheap and yet at the same time the new string sound doesn't go away. D'Addario have been around this long for a reason. If you're new to 12-52 strings these are a great first set.
Well first lets focus on the gauge as it is features, the thicker the string the longer it stays in tune and the louder and stronger the strings are. If you want to tune below D these are for you, you can get all the way down to open B or lower depending on your style. Not a huge jump from regular strings either so you won't have any problems adapting to them.
Well the new string sound stays longer than most brands I've tried compared to my local guitar shops or fender super bullets which are hands down the worst brand. Plus they can really take the abuse of detuned black metal without any concern that they'll break, you can play these for an extended period of time until they rust and they'll still stay in tune.
Only a few brands I keep coming back to as my store sells everything , these I can buy without any kind of hesistation because their cheap but yet have this awesome new string sound, that and like I said before their built to last.
