Gauges 50-70-85-105. D'Addario XL Nickel Electric Bass strings are world-renowned as "The Player's Choice" amongst bass players of all genres and styles. All XL strings are precision wound on computer-controlled machines, ensuring each string has excellent intonation, clear fundamentals, and unparalleled consistency. The nickel-plated steel wrap wire is known for it's distinctive bright tone and excellent intonation and delivers a universally appealing tone for all playing styles.
D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.
The FREE Planet Waves S.O.S. Guitar Tuner pulses two out-of-phase LED light beams directly onto the vibrating string. When the string is out of tune, the two lights will visually dance on the string being tuned. As you approach in-tune status, the movement slows down and eventually stops when you are perfectly in tune. This visual tuning system enables precision tuning in silent or noisy environments, without the need for audible sound or sensing of any kind.

I am a professional bassist playing a fender deluxe J Bass 2004 who plays mostly Jazz gigs. I thought I'd give these strings a try since people seem to like them and for the price how could you go wrong? Right off the bat they sounded flat and lifeless, plus they seem to cause more fret noise then other strings. I didn't even keep these strings on for one day! If you are looking for a nice fat, round tone do NOT buy these strings.
