I have been playing bass for over half my life, I've tried them all, and these ARE the best strings for the money. I have seen several people bash these strings for their bright tone - If you don't want bright tone, then dont play nickel round-wound strings! I use flat-wounds on my fretless for Jazz, so if you want a warm mellow tone for Jazz- buy flats. You may also find them too bright if you play pick-style (which i don't recommend), or if your bass is passive (which makes it difficult to dial in your tone). Otherwise, these are perfect for any style, and they typically last for several weeks (depending on play-time). Any other string of this quality will cost you at least twice as much. Other brands close to this price will deaden quickly, or will be dead right out of the package!!! (GHS) I teach lessons, tour, and play for hire - so value is very important to me, and these strings have not let me down yet.

These strings are great for slapping, they are very responsive, and yield great harmonics. However, if you are like i am and am looking for a flawless warm finger picking sound, these strings are not for you, they are waaaaaaay too bright and have a very dry tone. On the other hand if you play all rock and slap these strings are just what you are looking for.

Comments about D'Addario EXL160TP Twin-Pack Bass Guitar Strings:
The string didn't exactly fit my bass until I clipped off some of the top but it was much of a problem since I measured the length with the ones I took off. Love the tone quality of them and holds on really well. Anyone wanting to change strings soon should try these out. And I got them at a two-for-one deal.

theses 2 packs strings are unbeatable in cost and quality. I would highly recommend them to any player.
2 sets of strings for the cost of one, and they are rock solid strings.. can't beat it.

Comments about D'Addario EXL160TP Twin-Pack Bass Guitar Strings:
I got these strings as well as some Super Slinkys the other day. I put both of them on and i really like both. I do prefer the super slinks over these however. I noticed right away that when i finger pluck these it is very very metalic sounding compaired to the slinks they are a bit harder on the fingers as well.
Comments about D'Addario EXL160TP Twin-Pack Bass Guitar Strings:
Price-wise, these are the best bargain on the market. They are very bright, but with judicious EQ-ing and the right bass/amp setup some nice warm tones can be achieved. Tension is perfect for my needs (I play an MIA Jazz), allowing a good fat tone when playing by the neck without too much floppiness and a tight, growly tone when playing back by the bridge. Overall, a great value, pretty bright as strings go but if you have a versatile setup and you're looking for an authentic roundwound sound then this is a good bet.

these are awesome if your big on slapping, but the elastisity is less average. gives to much of a metallic sound when finger picking. but hey buy what u can afford i guess

WOW, these strings are amazing. I'm really picky about tone, life, brightness, etc. and these fit me just right! I've had warwick, elixir, fender, and so many others. I have a warwick double buck 4string and it brings out so much growl it scares me! plus the value is amazing! normally decent strings are more for 1 set. bottom line try these.
Comments about D'Addario EXL160TP Twin-Pack Bass Guitar Strings:
very bright tone, good with slap and pick tones. probably the best slap strings i've played, and i've played a lot of strings (ernie-ball slinkys, d'addario chromes, and ghs boomers). only one complaint, fingerstyle tone leaves something left to be desired. they can sound very "mettalic" at times when played with fingers. but they are also very long lasting. Great string, good buy.
Comments about D'Addario EXL160TP Twin-Pack Bass Guitar Strings:
Not the best sounding strings ever, but they DO sound seriously GREAT, and are extremely consistent, and unbelievably affordable. It really is the ONLY option, if you play as much and as hard as I do. So there.
