EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario acoustic guitar strings. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life from your strings and your sound. And since the EXP coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.
D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I use these on all my acoustics. One guitar likes the 10s, 12s on another, and a set for my 12 string. Simply the best sounding, feeling strings, and they last longer than any other too.

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Just as good as the Elixrs and less expensive. The only reason for the "breaks easy" comment is that they are extra light. Otherwise comparable to the best coated strings out there.

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Elixer has been my go to for years now but I decided I need to save money and try something cheaper when I popped a fresh string just like a day after I changed the darn thing. So I went with these bad boys and they feel good to the touch, stay in tune very well, seem to have a good long lasting tone, and kept money in my pocket. I like that.

            WOW!!!

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I decided to try some new strings and upgrade from my old ones. I have had D'Addario string on my electric for years and so gave these a shot. They have a very nice bright sound on the top end and also have a nice rich bottom end too. Never had coated strings before, but I think I have now been converted.

Best Acoustic Strings I've ever played on.

            By Richard Hale

            from San Ramon, Ca

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I noticed a change in color around the sound hole. I used Fast-Fret and it got rid of most of what ever the discoloration was. They seem fine with Finger-ease as well (after Fast-Fret they squeak).

I'm not sure that the coating can actually wear off these things (microscopic examination is required to reach any empirical conclusion). I do not want to see any Mfg. change on these strings as it puts at risk the best Strictly Acoustic strings I've ever played on.

For the record the High E and B Extra Lite gauges are a little to small for Strictly Acoustic (Mike'd no pickups) 97% of the musicians using these strings will not notice.

My only motivation for writting this review is to insure their Availability and unique Acoustic Properties do not change.
Best Acoustic Strings ever... In other words no other strings have ever sounded this good during recording and/or performing.

Great tone, harmonics and a projected volume out of the sound hole that cannot be equaled. I honestly thought that I'd never find anything like this in terms of Strictly Purest Acoustic sound.
Both Quality of sound and useful life are Amazing. They Quality of attention the artist is given rises to a whole new level as a direct result of the EXP-10s.

I would not be suprised to see these strings start an Acoustic Guitar Renaissance.
A better value than any strings out there at any price. The Hex Core is an empirical scientific breakthrough. Thats geek speak for what listeners call "Beutiful Sound".

Acoustic Guitar Manufacturers are going to learn real quick to send their product out the door with these strings.

            Guitar Vern

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Tone, dependability, long life, great price!! Try these!!!
Nice balanced tone. Rich lows with crisp mids & highs. Coating preserves strings as well as finger tips.
The coating on these strings helps them last a lot longer than normal strings without "fraying" or loss of tuning stability or tone.
They are just as good if not better than other coated strings at 2/3 the price!

            Amazing is an understatement

Comments about D'Addario EXP10 Coated 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I purchased these strings 4 months ago, hoping that they would cure my search for a durable, long-lasting bright sounding string. They worked. These strings sounded amazing out of the box, with a bright sound, and it does almost feel like there is no coating on the strings, which is a big plus. The one thing i have to complain about this string is that the coating has worn off around the soundhole area. I don't know if that's what happens to coated strings after a while of heavy playing, because these are the first ones I've tried.Overall, these are great strings that keep their tone as advertised, and you would be a fool not to at least give them a try.
