OVERVIEW

Special EXP coating extends string life dramatically without losing that natural feel!

Gauges: 11-15-22-32-42-52

An ultrafine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 bronze wrap wire, then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. They offer natural round wound feel and will sound fresh and bright 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.

80/20 bronze alloy retains flexibility as well as brilliant tone for many hours of hard play. Computer-controlled wrapping around a hex core ensures consistency and extends life.

D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

I gig 6 nights a week during the summer, usually outside, and near the ocean. Between the sweat, salt-water air, humidity, etc. I was changing strings after every gig. I tried Elixir nanoweb, and polyweb strings because they last according to the hype. Well, I wasnt happy with the sound and I was still only getting 2 days (or maybe 3 if I ignored the sound degradation) out of them, and that was only when the G string didnt break before they lost their tone (this happened a LOT). I switched to these EXP 80/20s and now I get great tone and 4 solid days before they start sounding dead. An extra gig or two may not sound like much, but over a 12-14 week period it sure adds up. My Takamine, Ovation, and Fender 12 string sound great with these babies on. I am VERY pleased.
No real "features", but want to give tham a 10-10-10 rating.
Top notch quality!
Compaired to other "long lasting" strings at a higher price tag and half the performance (Elixir) this is a GREAT value.

I wanted to upgrade the strings on my guitar which were very dull and out of life. I was recommended these strings so I got them. They were ok in the beginning but they got VERY dull just after a month. They became the most horrible, dull strings I've ever heard in my life. I changed them out to other strings and it seems that Elixirs hold out the bright sound the best. I have been using them for about a year now and they sound bright as ever. Remember, the coating does nothing to protect the string and these strings(80/20)sound a lot duller than the regular D'Addario Phosphor bronze strings I've played.

BOTTOM LINE: get Exilirs if you are looking to get strings at this price

Comments about D'Addario EXP13 Coated 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have Several different Acoustics of Makes from a Seagull S6 Folk w/ Cedar top to Ibanez Aeg20, to a Cortez 12 string that I was forced to mod due to a freakish nightmare of an accident; everytime I thread a new set on, these strings have repeatedly blown me away with their ability to bring out the amazing ranges of tonal colors, resonance, and sustain respective to each guitar...voilin-like sustain, crystal highs, warm mids-to-lower-mids, and deep, full, but not muddy bottom end...I play on the worship team for my church, and in a string-trio gigging coffee houses on the side and these strings have been awesome in both situations; I've tried loads of other strings, but have decided to stick with only these and T.I. Spectrum AC111's...If you're in the market for top-notch strings to help you define your tone, that play and sound amazing, and last gig after gig, look no further! BUY THESE STRINGS!!!

Perfect for me!

Comments about EXP13 Coated 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have used these for over 2 years on two Ibanez acoustics. I have used many gauges of strings from .10 to .13 and have settled on the .11 strings. They are without a doubt the longest lasting and the sound is what my I was looking for in my acoustics. I have been using D'Addario strings on all of my instruments for well over 20 years. I have been a semi professional musician for well over 40 years and have used every brand at some point in my life. My electric guitars and bass as well as my Ibanez acoustic bass also use D'Addario strings. They just work for me. You will have to decide for yourself and it may be what you want also. Oh, and did I mention they feel great!

Comments about D'Addario EXP13 Coated 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I regularly get compliments on my guitar's tone when amplified through the PA. I have a moderately priced Ibanez acoustic-electric, and I'm sure these strings are a big reason for the compliments. I tried some Ernie Ball Everlasts in the same gauge, and the tone was nowhere near as good.

Comments about D'Addario EXP13 Coated 80/20 Bronze Custom Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

While I generally use 12s on my acoustics, I use a lighter gauge set on my one A-E model. The A/E has a solid Cedar top with rosewood B&S. I've tried both 80/20 and Phosphor bronze on it. To my ears, I prefer the sound of 80/20 bronze with the cedar top. The cedar is just a bit darker overall than the solid spruce tops on my other acoustics. The 80/20 sounds a little brighter and complements the darker nature of the cedar very well. I don't think I've purchased anything but D'Addario strings for my acoustic and electric guitars in years. The quality is consistent.

The strings are just gorgeous. They are set in 15 minutes. Sonorous sound and tight. Before that I used the EXP15 and now I will only buy these. I hope that they will not wear out quickly make my long life.

I play my acoustic about 45 min. per day.I normally change strings every month. This is the second time I have tried coated strings, both sets broke within a months time. They are no better then uncoated ,and cost almost twice as much. Dont waste your money.

I love these strings on my resonators. Only concern I have is that I've heard, from several people, that D'Addario's "NY Steel" strings eat up one's frets rapidly. I guess we'll see. Anybody got any experience info on this??
