OVERVIEW

Special coating extends string life dramatically.

Gauges: 12-16-24-32-42-53. Pack of 3.

EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity, and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario strings. Here is how it works: An ultrafine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP coating is crosslinked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.

D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

They retain their brilliance long after similar bronze and brass alloy strings go dead. Don't wait for catastrophe, order several sets today.

WOW@ They hold their tune better last longer (6 weeks on trial set 8 hrs a day 6 days a week) They sound fantastic I use phosphorous bronze on a new Martin D-18 and my Takamine EFC 341 that is 28 yrs old. These strings sounded great right out of the box. Rich and bright but not too bright. I mostly finger pick using plastic thumb pick and metal finger picks. Also play with no picks or flat pick on some tunes and use alternate turnings. I put these strings on a Taylor CE414 after having used Elixers. I wanted a change because the coating on the Elixers shreds after a short time. I prefer the EXP sound. After about two weeks on my guitar and about thirty hours of play including a gig, the EXPs are sounding much more mellow, maybe even too mellow for my tastes. The wound g and low e strings are sounding a bit dull. This leads me to question whether these coated strings really last that much longer than non-coated given that they cost three times as much. If these strings were the non-coated equivalent at one third the price I would have changed them out by now and still have a fresh set in my case. I will be testing this in the future.

Had a lot of problems with oxidation as I perform at Tiki bars along the water in s/w Florida. Kept breaking Elixr strings. So far, these are holding up well.

My Ibanez guitars all come with these strings and I highly recommend them. If your are playing and the notes seem to fade fast, it's time to put on new strings. I highly recommend these.

They sounded and played great on my all wood Yamaha ,
but when I put them on my Martin I was disappointed.
Too bright (tinny)... I think I'll stick with the
medium gauge for a fuller sound.
