EXP165 Coated Bass Strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity, and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario strings. Here is how they work: An ultrafine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire and is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against corrosion and wear, which can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound.
And because the EXP coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than with traditional strings.
D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

Comments about D'Addario EXP165 Coated Soft Top/Regular Bottom Bass Strings:
I find that when I strap on a new set of D'Adarrio's, they are bright, responsive, and very smooth. I love EXL's. EXP's are everything I do not like in a bass string, rough, not as bright, expensive. They are coated sure, but who wants 3 months of a bad sounding and feeling string. DR strings have better coated's by the way if youre looking for coated's. I'd say go for the two-packs of D'Adarrio EXL's or ernie ball slinky's.
