OVERVIEW

Special coating extends string life dramatically!

Gauges: 13-17-26-35-45-56.

EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide longer life and increased durability coupled with the brightness, clarity and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario strings. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright. New-string tone lasts 3 to 4 times longer than traditional guitar strings.
D'Addario is the world's largest manufacturer of strings for musical instruments. Many top guitarists won't play any other brand. Regardless of your playing style, D'Addario has a set that's right for you.

They retain their brilliance long after similar bronze and brass alloy strings go dead. Don't wait for catastrophe, order several sets today.

I recently got a set of these strings for my acoustic guitar. They are so awesome. They're my first legit acoustic guitar strings. Before i've just used crappy stock strings, and ernie ball electric guitar strings. I love these strings, and now i'm always gonna use these on my acoustic. For those who are unsure about getting coated strings, trust me, you will love them. they're not too terribly different than normal strings. they sound amazing: so warm, so clear, so punchy, just awesome. the feel is equally amazing: so much smoother than normal strings, just a really nice feel. they don't look extremely different than normal strings either, just a bit shinier, trust me they look better. the coating makes them sound better, stay cleaner, last longer, play better, and everything. they are worth the price by far. so from now on i am going to use d'addario exp 13-56 acoustic guitar strings on my acoustic, d'addario exp 50-105 for my bass, and d'addario exp 11-49 on my electric. i will no longer use any string other than d'addario exp. get these guitar strings.

I had Elixir Nanowebs, mediums, on a '71 Guild D-44. After changing to these strings, I noticed a markedly quieter output from the guitar. It just won't make as much noise; I find myself picking and strumming harder, trying to make the guitar sound right...it's a DREADNOUGHT, dude. Don't really work for me, these strings. Other musicians noticed the drop in volume, as well, with hardly any prompting, or none at all.

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

From what I can tell they are worth the price .
I have to rate then at an 8 because they are not as smooth as others I have used and I have not used them long enough to tell about the lasting aspect but they do sound good . the bass strings sound better than the elixir strings but the elixir are smotther . price wise it is a good buy.

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I needed to change the strings on my acoustic guitar. I saw these and read about them, and it sounded wonderful. I bought two sets. They seemed pretty good when i first started stringing it. but when I got to the G string, It just popped. I have tightened strings an octive too high before, so i tried it lower, and to get standard tuning, the strings are excessively loose and sound horrible. i tried stringing it at the same octive again, this time alot slower to allow the string to stretch and it happened again. Im very dissappointed with this, because i really wanted to hear how they played, and also because i have no strings on my guitar now. just watch that g string.

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

After using many other brands of strings over the years I have made these my strings of choice. They deliver consistent tone and the sustain is excellent. While I don't do a lot of bending or play with a heavy handed technique, I don't think I have ever broken a single string since moving over to these. Enough said.

Last Long, Sound Crisp, Feel Great

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I love these strings. I will never buy another kind for my new Martin. It really brings out the smooth lower bass and crispy highs. I play everyday for at least an hour and they have been going strong for more than 3 months. The price is ok but they do last longer and feel great when playing. I did notice my finger action improve because of the smooth feel of these strings. I play most of John Mayer's songs and they sound great when using the EXP17s but for those who love John Mayer's style and sound he uses the EXP16s. Just in case that helps.

Just put on these strings about 2 days ago. They are bright, have good sustain and excelent mids-highs. The only bad thing I have noticed is theyre a bit twangy on the low end

    I love these strings!

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have been playing off and on for a few years and start started playing seriously once my parent bought me my Taylor about a year ago. I was always a little disappointed with the sustain and bass from my last few sets of strings, not to mention the slight buzz I got on the low E string. I just strung these up today, tuned them once and they haven't gone out of tune yet. They also sound unbelievable. The sustain is great, and I really picked up some volume and tone on the low end. I can feel the coating on the strings, and I kinda like it. My freting had slides more easily on the strings and it feels as though the strings are easier to finger pick.Even better yet, I got a second set for free. I love these strings so far. I don't know why I ever went with a brand other than D'Addario. I wont play anything other than D'Addario on my electric, and now I'm pretty sure I will be using these strings until D'Addario comes up with something better.

I like Open G and DADGAD tunings. I found that the strings broke prematurely if you change open tunings often.

    Best Strings Out There

    By JammyThing

    from Jacksonville, FL

Comments about D'Addario EXP17 Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have been playing for a while - and while I pretty much stuck to just any old strings there, once I moved to acoustic I started to get a better ear for sound - including GOOD sound. I tried about 10 different sets of strings on my acoustic. And, although the quality of sound went up when I moved to a pro model, the strings all seem to be lacking something. I was told about these strings by a friend of mine who, strangely, doesn't even own an acoustic. After I put them on I noticed that these were different. The strings are slick enough for fast, multiple fret slides. The sound is incredible - it's thick, bright, and brings out the best sound in your guitar. And, though I usually do a string change every month or two (long practice sessions and extended concerts), the strings last a LONG time (months and months). they are all I want in a string, have staying power, and the awesome sound of them on my guitar make me want to play even more.
