I'm just learning to play the mandolin and use D'Addario strings on my guitars.  Found these to be just as expected from them...  GREAT!  They make me and my cheap instrument sound good.  Don't hesitate buying these strings!

the only strings to use is d-addario. i have been playing multiple instruments for a few years now. i will only use d-addario. have tried other strings, they either break, don't last long, or dont sound good. this is my preferred string for my kentucky km-855. the sound is bright, clear, and crisp. makes for powerful solos.

Bluegrass/Newgrass choice

Until this set was produced, I was replacing E and A strings on every set of J74, and even resorted to using (gasp) other makers' strings! The E and A are finally 'solid' sounding. Now..if we can just get them to understand that a 0.016" is required in the mandola sets, too.. Seriously, though, these are my go to strings. The EXP version is better if you suffer from acid sweat, or you're doing back-to-back (good for three) shows. Otherwise this is the set for your F or A model bluegrass mandolin.
