OVERVIEW

Re-engineered to be stronger for enhanced output.

Gauges 9-11-16-24-32-42

D'Addario NYXL guitar strings will bend farther, sing louder, and stay in tune better than other strings. Envisioned, perfected, and manufactured by D'Addario in New York, this newly engineered, break-resistant high-carbon steel core and plain steel alloy delivers a whole new level of freedom, confidence, and power. NYXL's provide more strength and 131% more tuning stability by utilizing a completely reinvented wire drawing process and revolutionary corrosion-resistant tin coating application. The reformulated nickel-plated string windings have greater magnetic properties resulting in higher output and enhanced mid-range frequency response for more presence and crunch. The NYXL0942 set is designed for maximum flexibility.

FEATURES
  • Features D'Addario's exclusive revolutionary high carbon steel alloy
  • Offers more strength, break-resistance, and improved tuning stability compared to traditional nickel wound strings

NYXL Strings are so different from traditional strings - one can hear and feel the difference as soon as your guitar is strung up. Words simply do not work; you have to experience these strings to truly appreciate what D'Addario has accomplished. These are the strongest electric guitar strings I have ever used (50+ years). Better yet, they settle to pitch faster and hold pitch better than any other string out there. Add to the aforementioned that these strings have a higher output than other stings, then the only conclusion that can be reached is that NYXL strings are something to be reckoned with. I do not know how you did it, D'Addario, but thank you for producing the first truly innovative change in electric guitar strings since the 1960's.

I bought three set of these strings to try out. So far I have only tried them on one guitar that has a floyd rose bridge. I had previously been using the standard EXL120s for many years. It was very difficult getting the high e and b string to stay in the floyd bridge without slipping out. Eventually I ended up having to use sandpaper to rough up the tip of the string. Then, when stretching the strings, the high e string broke around the 3rd fret of the guitar. Note this was not at the bridge or the nut. So, I had to open a second set and use it's high e string, which also slipped out of the floyd without using sandpaper on the end. They now have about 5 hours of playing time on them and the new e string hasn't broken yet. The sound is good, but doesn't seem radically better than the EXL120s I had been using. I would recommend sticking to the EXL120 if that's what you've been using before these came out.

Comments about D'Addario NYXL Nickel Wound Super Light Electric Guitar Strings (9-42):

These strings are so good I just had to help promote them to others so they will remain in production and continue to be available. They are clearer, seem to hold intonation better, and are more elastic than standard D'Adarrio strings, yet they have no less warmth, or fatness, of tone. More costly for now, but I won't go back to EXL110s, even though I have almost twenty sets of them I thought I would be using. They are great strings, too, but these are obviously better to me.

I received a set from D'Addario as a test, I put them on my 2010 Firebird V, i'm hooked, i've been using GHS super lights for 40+ years,

I'm now ordering these NYXL's by the 10 pack.
Awesome stings, wish they were around years ago.

Try them and see for yourself.

Comments about D'Addario NYXL Nickel Wound Super Light Electric Guitar Strings (9-42):

D-Addario has taken a leap forward with the introduction of its NYXL strings. I use the Super Lights and could not be more impressed with their strength and ability to bend while staying in tune. It's also a string with the ability to sound delicate, but by no means is it a delicate string. Bravo, D-Addario!

I got these for test market research and could tell the difference in tone immediately. I used regular xl's and put them on my epiphone '56 goldtopi just bough the guitar and wasn't sure about it but I put these strings on and fell in love with my new guitar. Stat in tune even when I abuse the bigsby. I need to buy more sets so maybe I will play my other guitars.
