This is the best straplock design ever. You can remove the strap and put it on in a second or two, and you don't have to keep the strap attached to the guitar while in the case like other straplocks. I play a very heavy Les Paul copy and no longer have to curl my body over while playing so as to catch my guitar if it falls!

Tried it on an Ibanez RG2550Z (last year's model). You can barely put it on; the button head on the guitar is about 17-18mm, but the widest part of the strap holder is 17mm (the narrow is 10mm). Trying in an angle I finally managed to get it on, but there's not enough freedom of movement and I couldn't quite get it to sit right.

I removed right away, and noticed it left some rubber on the guitar. Maybe it's because I had to struggle to put it on, but it doesn't look like the right choice of material.

    Summary:

    * The locking mechanism looks nice (assuming it's durable, which I didn't test).
    * It didn't fit my guitar because of the 17mm opening and because the holders are bulky thickness-wise.
    * The rubber on the internal side isn't durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

Not a high end strap by any means, but for what you pay I couldn't be more happy. It locks well on the guitar I have it on and is long enough for anyone to use. I was skeptical of the "lock strap" for that price but having had it for a while it is as good as any add on system to any strap you already have. This is a good strap for practice and such but I don't use it when we play outside of the practice room.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

I like the satin version of this strap better ... (same brand, same design, more expensive) ... but wanted to have a few inexpensive back-up straps ... the locking mechanism works great ... why worry about a strap pop-off if you don't have to ... one less thing to worry about!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

For most electric gitars that are not particularly heavy or with oddly positioned strap buttons, this is really all you need for support and locking security. If you are unfamiliar with the locking mechanism, you will learn it by disengaging it from the delivered packaging. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well. The range of length adjustment is suitable for all players. The price it right for what you get. If you need some more weight relief, perhaps those ones seat belt cuchions would integrate well. I use these on my lighter and lower-valued guitars routinely. They also can stay on the guitars in their cases.

The worst thing that can happen during a performance is your guitar strap failing and having to catch the axe mid song, this takes of that without installation and extra, cost, excellent product.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves 2" Polypropylene Planet Lock Guitar Strap:

The planet lock guitar strap is a light-weight, but strong strap that allows secure connection to the guitar posts. Once connected and closed, there is no fear of the guitar slipping out of the strap and being damaged. I did find, however, that it is not a quick release like the seperate metal types. The strap fits the holders of the Getsch, which are very thick, but need to be closed manually. This is not a quick-release system, because the knurled adjustment knob needs to be released and then maneuvered out of the hole in the strap end to remove from the guitar. One other caveat, although it fits Gretsches and probably most other guitars, in won't work on the post used on Bigsby. There's just not enough room. What I finally did was use cut a small slot in a heavy duty leather belt that would just fit over the back post (or peg) and then cut one end of the strap off and sew it on the front of the belt. I do like the strap enough to use half of it. The price makes doing this viable.

Haven't swung the guitar around like they do in the video but appears to be a well-made item that will last. The ends are a bit thick, and on my Ovation the sound of plastic on composite is a little unnatural in the acoustic world but hey...it holds up the guitar with no worries!

This is the best strap I've ever found. The only drawback is that it may have to go on backwards on mounts attached to the back. My Dean and Ibanez have to be attached this way. If this doesn't concern you, then it's the best locking strap you can buy. My only wish is that they came in other colors and perhaps other materials such as leather.
