This kit was SUPER easy to use. Cutting the cable, inserting the cable, and screwing the cable in required no mechanical skill at all. I wired up 8 pedals (16 cables) of various lengths plugged them into the looper of my pedal board and all of them worked the first time. The only knock I have on these are the connectors are fairly large so if you have very tight spacing it may be a problem. I had to stagger my pedals a little above and below each other to fit it all in neatly. The ease of making them however, can't be beat and they were half the cost of the other cable kits I was looking at.

These are priced fairly reasonably, but there are better options that cost a bit more. The cable is not very flexible, and the jacks are all too bulky, so its hard to get a tight setup.

Its pretty easy to make cables, only takes about a minute.

My pedals are stationary on the pedalboard, so I don't anticipate any connection problems.

Making quality right angle cables used to take half an hour per cable. These took less than five minutes per cable and they fit the close quarters of the stereo ins and outs without having to grind the metal right angle plugs for clearance.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Cable Station Pedalboard Cable Kit:

I bought this kit to cut correct length cables for my pedal board. Over the months I'd have problems like noise or a pedal not working. I'd remove that cable and throw it in the corner of my room. I noticed yesterday that all 3 cables in the corner are Cable Station Pedal cables. It's hard to find cables that are the perfect length for your pedalboard, but I would search high and low before buying these.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Cable Station Pedalboard Cable Kit:

As a session/touring musician, my pedalboard in the past had always been a work in progress, with a mix of cabling I've tried over the years. I tried other 'build your own' kits and couldn't get cables to actually work, or the wiring is too thin. Couldn't stand them. Putting together a new pedalboard for an upcoming tour, a friend of mine recommended these Planet Waves cables. They seemed a little bulky, BUT I just wired up a PT Jr size board and am able to get 13 pedals on that size board with these cables! The quality is excellent. They were easy to install - first time, no issues, and the sound is great!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Cable Station Pedalboard Cable Kit:

I read some good reviews here and decided to give them a try when I needed to completely rewire my pedalboard to add a pedal switcher. These cables work just as advertised. Really easy to put together at any length you need. Even the plastic wire cutter made nice clean cuts. I love not messing with a soldering iron. It is, however, a good idea to test the ends with a multimeter to be sure the connections work before you wire everything up. But that would be true of any cable you make yourself.

Only wish they gave you more ends. You can only make 5 cables with one box, so plan accordingly.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Cable Station Pedalboard Cable Kit:

Pedals and pedalboards are fascinating and frustrating in equal measure. There are limitless options of makes, models, and types of effects as well as the wide variety of pedalboards.

Devising an arrangement that will provide the optimal signal path, maximize usefulness and accessibility, and stay solid through transport and use at rehearsals and gigs is more art than science, unique to each player, but one universally-accepted premise is that cables should be as short as practical. This kit allows custom-sizing of patches in order to preserve signal quality and minimize the mess.

The process is simple: cut to length, attach an endpiece and tighten the anchor screw. I was dubious about the no-tools connection method but I tested with a multimeter and all is well.

The included cutter does the job with some effort, but is rather flimsy as you might expect with a freebie. Most of us own proper wire cutters anyway. The anchoring screws are rather small and would be a bit of a nightmare in a low-light situation.

The included cable is rather thick which means shorter-length patches (such as those between two pedals) can be tricky to bend into a U-shape.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Cable Station Pedalboard Cable Kit:

This is the second kit I've bought and will buy another if need be. The first kit has been in use for 3 years without a single failure. I've even taken cables apart to make longer one's and kept the shorter cable and re-used it with THE SAME holes previously made and still no failures. I recently added a midi switcher to my rig and needed more cables and did the research all over again and this is still the best deal. I rehearse and gig once a week so that's 4 car trips, set ups and tear downs a week and never a failure. I've done my fair share of studio work so I've had exposure to all of the big name cables and I can tell no difference between these and any of those. You will tell a difference between any quality cable vs. cheap cable for sure, but not these vs. mogomi etc... If you're on the fence, for what it's worth, I'd buy these a thousand times over.

I've never had A issue with any of Planet waves products. If you can cut a cable straight and turn a screw driver you can handle this. sound quality with any cable boils down to low capacitance in the cable used. less resistance / ohms. George L's has the lowest capacitance co-ax cable made that I know of but their R/A plugs do develope connection problems after a period of time "A month or two" This kit doesn't require you to bend the cable to put them together and I think that's where the problem with George L R/A plugs lay. I tried some of Planet waves classic series patch cables and found that cable to be clear as a bell too but they could stand for better plugs. this kit does the job well but like all solder less cables, your going to have a issue sooner or later but its less likely where no bending of the cable is required. Try them.
