OVERVIEW

All the quick and easy features you want, none of the tuning and buzzing hassles you don't.

The patented Planet Waves Dual-Action Capo is not your ordinary trigger-type capo. Compound action reduces the force necessary to open and close the capo. It also eliminates side-pulling the strings out of tune, which is prevalent on other trigger-type capos. Aircraft-quality aluminum construction adds virtually no weight to the guitar's neck when in use and the capo can be clamped on the headstock when idle. Simply adjust the tactile micrometer tension control so there is just enough tension to eliminate string buzzing and enjoy repeatable, in-tune performance at every fret.

I had been using Dunlop capos, and Kyser. I always had tuning and intonation problems, not only on acoustic but also on my telecaster. After I purchased this capo all those problems were gone. No buzzing, no bad intonation or tuning... perfect. I use it on my parts tele and Am Std Strat, for gigs and leading worship. This is completely worth the purchase!

I bought this capo about a year ago and I'm very disappointed with it. When I first purchased capo it worked great for acoustic and electric. Now the capo is like it has lost all it's tension it barely holds down the strings on my telecaster and won't hold down the strings on acoustic anymore. I've had a cheap 5 dollar Duncan one I've had for years that I'm now using instead.this is way over priced and not built to last you can buy 3 cheap ones for the price of one of these and they will last longer.very poor design planet waves

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I've loved this capo since I got it about a year and a half ago. However as it got older, the little screw at the end for tightening the spring started to rattle while I was playing. It's not really a problem with electrics because the amp will drown it out, but when you're getting into a song on an acoustic or even tuning (I keep mine clamped to the headstock when I'm not using it) it rattles. If you're just using it for practicing its worth it, but in the long run I'd say go for something else.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

As we say in AA....Keep It Simple Stupid....you didn't...thus you get a "D" in my book. Spend your money on a simpler design. The ones that LOOK the dullest are the best.
It looks nice...feels nice....but I've found over the years, that the more mechanical parts on a capo, the easier it's going to screw up. Look at this capo....some rocket scientist had to have figure this one out. Folks? All a capo need do is hold the strings down over a selected fret...it's NOT rocket science.
The tension spring broke on the first one I got...and on the second one as well. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me~!
This capo also costs well over the cost of other, simpler (and more effective in my book) capos.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

It was great until it broke(I've had it for like 2 months at most). Now when ever I try to use it, it legitimately gets stuck on the guitar and I have to physically pull it off myself which is probably not good for the brand new strings that I just bought.

        It broke

        By dtemple427

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I admit I am a capo junkie and have just about every capo designed and have modified severl for alternate tunings. I also admit I am one of the most devoted Planet Waves customers. However, I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the quality on this one. I have gone through two of these in a very short period of time. I have never had to return a Planet Waves product until now. It is a great idea but has one plastic part that broke in the same place on both capos. It may be that I am a bit heavy handed from playing the 12 string. If you do buy this product I will advise you to be very gentle when you tighten the tension. I think I will wait on this one to be updated. In the meantime I will continue to be a loyal Planet Waves customer and try just about everything they produce.

        Poor Design Breaks Easily

        By Hirsch56

        from West Lafayette, IN

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

Just grab it wrong and it breaks. The adjuster screw stem is very fragile and forms a lever to break it off with. The fragile part sticks down where you're likely to grab and break it. Very poor ergonomics.

Dual Action Capo... they finally got it right!

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I've been playing guitar for 40 years and have gone through many capos, from crude and fancy... have come pretty close to trying them all at one time or another. But finally, PlanetWaves got it right with this new dual-action capo. It's so simple to use on the fly... one hand and it's on the peghead resting... 1.5 seconds later its on the appropriate fret and everything stays in perfect tune. Have a guitar with high action? Just a couple of twists and the capo has the perfect tension to hold down all strings. Doesn't quite do the trick on my 12 string... but works great on every 6 string acoustic I've tried. It's a little expensive, but worth every penny. If you're looking for "a better mouse-trap" in capos... this is the real deal! Like me, you'll wonder why it took so long to get a worry-free capo.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

It is easier to get on fast unlike some of the other brands. It has a sleek profile so it looks good, (always important on stage.) It just plain works. I've had so many sales people try to convince me the other expensive products are better but when you are going from one song to another and have to get your capo on and have it set perfectly right away, this just plain works.
        Still works great.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I own 4 of the Planet Waves NS capos and absolutely love them. Very reliable, and don't seem to wear out. I picked on of these up thinking I would get the same kind of quality and use, but was I wrong. I adjusted it before starting our set, and when I went to put it on, the adjustment was already out of whack. This could ony happen when you go from one song into another without stopping, right?!??!?! I have since thrown this thing in the trash and will stick with the NS capos.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I've had this capo for a few months now, and it serves pretty well. I've had a Kyser quick-change capo first, but I wanted this Planet Waves capo for its ability to adjust the tension of the spring. I use it with my Strat, and the Kyser is too tight for the lighter strings. I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be used with an electric because it's still quite a bit wider than it needs to be in relation to the electric neck. This means that I had to learn just the right way of slapping it on, but this isn't hard, and it works very well. For acoustic, it works like a charm. It allows for you to adjust it for lighter-than-normal string gauges or heavier, I guess, where a normal Kyser or Dunlop would be too tight or loose.Overall, it's a simple mechanism that works very well for an easy and straight forward purpose in my opinion. Get one!

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

This capo is a smart design. I've owned and used Kysers (lost it) and Dunlops in the past, and they have served me well. I expect this capo to raise the bar though. So far though, it has done it's job and I've used both the Dunlop capo and this one simultaneously and have gotten pretty nice results. Ths one thing this capo can't do that the Kyser and Dunlop can is be used upside down to get a 4-string capo, but that's a minor detail.

You can say goodbye to your old capos , because this capo has got it , goin' on. Very easy to use , and very light weight. You can clamp it to your headstock when not in use. With the dual-action you can customize it to fit on any steel string guitar , acoustic or electric , and it won't pull your strings out of tune. This capo should be in every guitaists case or gig bag.

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I came to the conclusion that only an adjustable capo would do. Many are too strong and squeeze the bass notes sharp. And with different neck thicknesses and neck radiuses, it's no wonder a one-fits-all doesn't always work well. This is easy to squeeze on and sounds good every time. Perfectly in tune up the neck. A really nice design that works.

        one hand wonder

        By JAA

        from Whidbey Island Washington

Comments about Planet Waves Dual Action Capo:

I play twice a week and use a capo each time.I have been searching for a true one hand capo and found it in the Planet waves dual action capo. The adjustable tension allows for the proper amount of pressure for the capo to perform without changing the tuning or intonation of the guitar. I play a Martin alternative 2 and have given away all my other capo's to use this one exclusively. It works great with electric guitars as well. This product will change the way you think about capo's.
