OVERVIEW

All the features of the NS Mini, and more, but in an even smaller size.

The NS Micro offers improved accuracy, faster response, expanded calibration range, visual metronome mode and an improved ratchet design. A highly sensitive piezo transducer and easy-to-read multi-color backlit display allow smooth and highly accurate tuning in noisy, dim or well-lit environments while the micro design and reversible screen allow the tuner to hide effortlessly behind or mount on the front side of the headstock allowing the tuner to remain clamped to the instrument inside most cases when stored. A 360-degree swivel mechanism and adjustable padded clamp offer optimal viewing angles and maximum positioning flexibility. As a result, the NS Micro is equally at home on left- and right-handed instruments as well as on small and large headstocks, making it an ideal choice for the widest variety of players and instruments. The NS Micro is powered by a readily available CR2032 battery (included) and provides maximum battery life utilizing an auto-off function, shutting the tuner off automatically after several minutes from power up.

FEATURES
  • Built-in piezo transducer picks up instrument's vibration rather than sound
  • Improved software for faster response and improved accuracy
  • Tri-color reversible backlit LCD screen makes it easy to tune in dark environments while allowing mounting in front or behind headstock
  • Wide calibration range (410Hz to 480Hz) and visual metronome
  • Compact design blends into the aesthetics of instrument while adding considerably less weight than other headstock tuners
  • Tunes acoustic and electric guitars, basses, mandolins, banjos and other stringed instruments

I ordered some more PlanetWaves headstock tuners and these came instead---they're apparently newer/updated models. Still compact, unobtrusive and accurate. The compact design might limit visibility with some placements but it surely contributes to keeping the unit out of harm's way and accidental damage. Small enough to leave on you axe when you put it to bed in its case. They work just as well as the original version with theses added/updated features: (1) Metronome (visual) function, (2)Display "flip" function (useful!), and (3) an easier to use clamp/clip. The battery compartment is, however, more difficult to open than the original version---you may need a pair of needle-nose pliers to apply the proper amount of squeeze and pull to release the battery holder. The good news is that I've been using my original ones daily, for months, and have yet to replace the battery.

This is the first tuner if this type I've used and it works great in the home or where ever there isn't much ambient noise, but it's definitely not a good stage tuner. It picks up every noise on stage, which makes for a difficult time trying to retune during a performance. I found myself having to wait for a quiet moment then hurriedly tuning whichever string was out. For home use, it works well, just not on stage.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Headstock Tuner:

It was very sensitive to the positioning on the headstock. It wouldn't work at all at the top, but worked fairly well on the bottom below the tuning pegs. But after a couple months, the battery went dead. After replacing the battery, the calibration must have been thrown off, because it won't tune at all now. Comparing it with other tuners, it is way off! Pretty much useless to me now.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Headstock Tuner:

This is a great little tuner for light use! Hides right behind the headstock, and lights up like it's christmas! The only problem I have with it is that the display is facing an awkward direction, and you can not switch it compared to the Korg headstock tuner that I have.

Loving these little buggers, they're super low profile and don't ruin the guitar aesthetic like a Snark. Clever design.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Headstock Tuner:

It is unobtrusive. Works pretty well, but my Boss headstock tuner reads better and is easier to use (though it is larger). I wouldn't use this for gigging without a backup. The clamp seems like it may be a little flimsy.

I liked the first version, but the clamp was weak and would come off in the case. I play 5 string fretless basses both electric and accoustic. I bought 2 newer units and like them better.Grips well, quicker response, fits nicely. Our singer got one for his 6 string accoustic and likes it as well.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Headstock Tuner:

This little tuner is amazingly accurate. Side by side comparison with my Snark was dead-on identical. I like it because I can leave it on my guitar and not have to fish one out of my case. You can flip the display (electronically, not physically), and there's a decent metronome feature. The Red-Yellow-Green feature is a nice addition. Great value, IMHO.

This is a great tuner. It's easy to use, it's accurate, and with it's mini size,I just leave it on my guitar, even in the case.just like an onboard tuner ,only with more funtions. the metronome really works! This is the second tuner I bought for a friend.

This updated model seems to be more sensitive and quick on bass than the previous one. That is cool. Unfortunately I purchased 2,and one didn't work, so I got a refund for that one. I like that if you change the reference pitch, it keeps that pitch even after turning it off (unlike the earlier version of the tuner).
