It's always been tough to properly tune my acoustics when there's noise around. There's the problem of where to put the tuner while tuning and it's always a bit of a hassle. I tried one of those stick-on tuners and it was marginal and then there's this not so great limited tuner stuck to the sound board. The Tuner-up has finally solved the problem. I have never tuned up my acoustics quicker than using my little Korg tuner and the Tuner-up bracket. You simply hook it on the sound hole - tune up - set it aside or back in the case and play.
The Planet Waves Tuner Up is a must have, if you need to tune your guitar anywhere other than the local library. I always had problems with the microphone on my tuner picking up sounds other than my guitar and throwing off the tuning. I was really getting frustrated, until I found this item. It is definitely the best money I have spent in a long time. It is simple to use and comes with it's own short cable to connect to your tuner. Had my guitar tuned in record time.
The Tuner-Up is one of the handiest guitar accessories I own, and it works great! If you have an acoustic guitar without a pickup, the Tuner-Up is indispensable. No more trying to hold onto both the tuner and guitar both while adjusting the machine heads. The Tuner-Up is as handy for my acoustic guitars as my stomp box tuner is for my electrics. The only reason I didn't give it all "5's" is that there is no padding under the part that hooks over the sound hole. Maybe that would interfere with transmitting the vibration to the piezo??? Not a big deal, but I admit I do exercise caution when hanging it on my $4800 Collings OM. Anyway, this is a great device that everyone who owns an acoustic guitar should have. Best ten bucks I ever spent!
This is one of those head-slappers where you say, "I could have invented this!" But someone else did and it works exactly as intended. I use it with a Korg CA-30. Solves the problem of how to hold the tuner while tuning. Musician's Friend got it to me PDQ.
I would expect a unit like this to cost a whole lot more than it does. The low E string on my acoustic guitar has always been a problem for my tuner's mic, but the Planet Waves Tuner-Up makes tuning it as easy as the other strings. When I purchased this, I was worried that my credit card-sized Korg tuner wouldn't fit into the bracket securely enough, but the elastic band can be configured in many different ways to hold any small tuner. It also holds the tuner at a nice angle for easy reading.
I bought one of these tuner ups in hopes that it would reduce the problem of my tuner picking up TV noise when I was tuning, and boy was I happy with the result. My guitars tune right up with the TV blaring and the tuner up hooked up to my tuner. Overall this thing is great. Pick one up today, you won't be disappointed.
