Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

I used this brand in various sizes for years but settled on their smaller picks. I tried a gemstone pick and have been using their jazz shaped for the past several years. I like the thickness and the fuller tone.

Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

I usually get a different brand of triangle picks and I almost always use heavy or medium even for strumming, but I got these for a beginner and they are great.

I like the fact that they come in a dozen for about the same price as the others for 6. Virtually the same exact pick as far as I can tell.

I'll still be getting different picks for different purposes and sounds, but these will replace the one brand I was getting before.

            Review of D'Andrea 346 Delrex Delrin (50mm & 60mm sizes) and D'Andrea Classic .46mm picks

            By Skip

            from Citrus Springs, Florida

Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

Easy to sumarize! If it says "D'Andrea" on the item, you'll have no problem with the results in quality of the materials used and the specific tonal quality sound you'll receive. This later (tone desired) is another reason as to why its always important to have within your "Pick Inventory," as many type picks (material, sizes, thickness, etc.) as your pocketbook and budget will allow. Keeping that in mind, you'll be ready for anything within the sound areas you might be looking for; not to mention the possiblity of having "something" available for a fellow musician who just might be in need of a pick whose sound is what he/she needs at the time.
As with any guitarist, you try them all at one time or another and of course, have a "collection" of a wide variety; that you may or may not use from time to time. Of all the "plastic-type" (all these related-included) strings, I have narrowed it down for my own use to the D'Andrea 346 Delrex Delrin (50mm & 60mm) and the D'Andrea Classic .46mm picks. I enjoy their size, shape and "feel" and their quality is set in the name itself - D'Andrea!
The name alone says it all - "D'Andrea" I've never had a anything with that name association that was less than Outstanding quality.
As with most "Plastic-type" manufacturers, D'Andrea ships their picks in the "1 dozen per package" lot. You just cannot beat the price for the quality and value received in their picks (I'm sure that Musician's Friend has alot to do with the superb pricing as well; that goes without saying.

            Scratchy

            By Zen Tai

            from Undisclosed

Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

Probably will substitute for the "turtle" pick and other acetal picks. (Note: I am not a fan of acetal picks, so others who like the "turtle" pick may digress.) Perhaps if you've never noticed the scratchines of a pick, none of my objections will matter.

They seem to last as long as any acetal pick. It all depends on whether you like a scratchy edge or not.
I own the 1.14mm picks and use them for guitar. As an edge wears in, it develops a rough texture that scratches the unwound strings. If you don't like the pick scratching sound, these will be a nightmare. It reminds me of the 80's Scotty nylon picks that would develop a "hairy" wear edge and scrape the strings, adding a "shimmer" to the notes. I've tried the Dunlop Delrin 500, the Clayton Delrin and the Wedgie Delrin, and none of those develop this scratchiness. The wear edges of those are very smooth and quiet. I really don't dig that scratchiness, which is pretty obvious. I can feel it scratching the strings. If you're going for a really nasty SRV type of pick scratchiness, perhaps you should try these.

These feel, wear and sound like acetal picks, not delrin. Acetal is softer and grab the strings more and produce a warm tone, similar to nylon. Delrin picks are stiffer and smoother and slide more effortlessly than these, and produce a clean, bright tone. Acetal is chemically similar to Delrin and is sometimes misnamed. I have not done any chemical analysis in a lab so I can't say for sure.

If your having trouble holding your Pick.

Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

I use to use Dunlop Tortex Standard .50 and Dunlop Nylon Standard .60 and I had a very hard time holding on to them while playing live. I would have to grip very hard and they still would slip and by the end of the night my index knuckle was aching so I went looking for a larger pick and came across these and after good word I tried them out and they are awesome! They never slip and there is so much more to grip all my picking is so much tighter! If you are having these sames problems you should definitely try these out.

            1mm D'Andrea 346 Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex

            By T-Man-0Vrcj

            from Northern Virginia

Comments about D'Andrea 346 Guitar Picks Rounded Triangle Delrex Delrin One Dozen:

These are my favorite picks. They are stiff - they exhibit no bending after heavy use and they do not wear down as fast as other picks I've used. They are slightly larger than my second-favorite picks (D'Andrea 346 Rounded Triangle Celluloid Guitar Picks or Fender 346 in either white or Shell) and the tip is formed at a sharper angle. I feel like I can play fast passages more easily and accurately with these picks. I sometimes use the edge of the pick for right hand tapping and even this simple maneuver was easier and more articulate using this pick. If you like using rounded triangle picks, then give these a try. I gave a 9 on value because I think picks are somewhat overpriced. I'd also like to be able to buy larger quantities than a dozen - and get a discount accordingly.
