Comments about D'Andrea Delrex Delrin Guitar Picks One Dozen:
Great Picks. Great Cross between Tortex and Delrin. All the grippiness of Tortex with more clarity, all the great pick-attack of Delrin without the slippiness.
Comments about D'Andrea Delrex Delrin Guitar Picks One Dozen:
If you like Acetal picks, this will be a good substitute.
If you're looking for a Delrin pick, you won't get one.
I suspect this is not true Delrin, but is instead Acetal. Chemically, they are almost identical, but they don't share the same physical properties. It looks, feels and plays just like a Dunlop Tortex or Clayton Acetal pick. Acetal is softer and gummier and produces a warm tone, while real Delrin is stiff and almost as crisp sounding as celluloid picks, without any chalkiness and grit. These picks produce a warm tone and wear like a typical Acetal pick. A well worn edge has a slight grittiness as it scrapes across the high E string.
Real Delrin picks grab the strings less and slide more easily because of their hardness. They also return more energy because they're less gummy (they sound brighter). The Wedgie Delrin, Dunlop Delrin and Clayton Delrin picks are some that I've tried that are Delrin and don't feel or sound like an Acetal pick. They're don't have a cloudy or milky appearance like Acetal. They also retain a much smoother edge with almost no feel of "grit" when the pick slides across the strings,
I'd say from warm to bright, the materials would be: Nylon, Acetal, Delrin, Celluloid, Ultem.
Nylon and Acetal seem similar. Delrin produces a bright but glassy tone because if it's smothness, and Celluloid imparts more shimmer because if it's chalkiness. Then there is Ultem, which is the brightest.
It seems to be as well made as all the other Acetal picks, some of which misuse the name "Delrin". It has the same feel, texture and sound as a typical Acetal pick of any major manufacturer.
Comments about D'Andrea Delrex Delrin Guitar Picks One Dozen:
This flatpick takes a beating and keeps on lickin'! The matte finish makes it easy to hold without the useage on any futuristic, fandangled, new age grippy-grip. So, it feels natural and it's edges smooth. It really allows my guitar to sound it's best while I do the rest.
