I have played guitar for nearly 50 years. When my grandpa and uncles taught me, they all used plastic thumb and finger picks. You could buy them anywhere. All shapes, sizes, and colors. I love the style and the sound, Now, they are a thing of the past. They are impossible to find. I was so glad musician's friend has these. I ordered 3 dozen because I feel they will soon be discontinued. At every show I play people ask how I get my wonderful warm tone. It is in these picks. It will soon be a lost art form. If you want your blues to sound like the masters of early blues, remember, It's in these picks. Buy a bunch before they are gone forever.

Why they don't have medium sizes is crazy. I have average (medium) size fingers. I just wanted a couple just to try but you can't even get that. They of course only have it in a dozen. I read reviews that said these would fit hands that weren't too big, they were not even close. These picks are way too big. I can slide them back far enough on my finger that the picking part isn't even over the tip of my finger. The pick itself it pretty wide at a 1/2 inch. Oh and I know some folks like designs and names on there products. These are a plain white color with slight rubber feeling finish. And there is no name discernment on the product, it is blank.

Comments about D'Andrea Finger Guitar Picks One Dozen:

I tried these picks because my metal National picks were putting dents in the top of my new Taylor 12 string. I'm using the large shell style.

The only thing I can say for the guy who gave 1 star because "all plastic fingerpicks are worthless" is that is not true! Metal picks might be great for banjo and resonators, but this is a stark improvement in tone for an acoustic guitar.

For size reference, my fingers are about 3/4" wide and 1/2" tall, and National large thumbpicks fit my thumb perfect. The sizes are inconsistent from pick to pick but that is a blessing in disguise because in a dozen you will find some that fit great. Some were too small for my fingers, but most fit just right.

They sound great. The metal picks never sounded right on a steel string acoustic, and these felt and sounded very natural. I highly recommend trying these picks. I will be using them for a long time.

I have been practicing with these and they are a bit large. However, they do stay in place. I hope they'll be suitable when I perform. They seem to be of good quality, however. Guess I'll keep them. I use them to play my autoharp.

                Take your pick

Comments about D'Andrea Finger Guitar Picks One Dozen:

I wont give them a 10 on the odd chance there might be something otherworldly out there that I might like more. Can't imagine, though - I really love these picks. These are not meant for banjo. You don't play banjo with plastic picks, nor do most folks play Dobro (lap style resonator) with plastic picks - you use metal. For acoustic slide work with fingerpicks and for straight ahead fingerpicking on an acoustic guitar - these rule as far as I am concerned. Smooth feel, super comfortable, nice tone.
Very comfortable pick. Material feels less pinchy on fingertip than the normal plastic fingerpick. Smooth attack when playing my round neck resonator and acoustic guitar both. Really have a different feel than your normal fingerpick, I like the size and shape a lot - seems to make picking easier.
Seem to be fine quality, one of the oldest pick making companies in the world. Since I bought a dozen, I should be good to go for a decade or so.
Great price, much better value than some of the boutique picks I have purchased.

Comments about D'Andrea Finger Guitar Picks One Dozen:

I hope to ween myself off of using a standard pick and use these for the traditional style of fingerpicking my bass. I recently started playing bass for a working band after playing guitar for 43 years, I still play it too, but now I'm earning money on the bass.
Smooth nylon material make these picks not have that annoying ping you get from fingernail picking. I am actually using these reversed (with the pick surface at my fingertip) to play the bass. Gives me the sound of a picked string with the fingertip picking style.
Smooth texture, hard enough to warrant durability
                great price!

I ordered these picks. I have big hands, but not really thick fingers, but these picks, even though they said "large" were painfully tight on my fingers.

Well banjo players aren't usually the ones who are looking for warm tone now, are they? Not that there's anything wrong with that :-)I've been trying to find plastic finger picks for quite awhile and I'm glad they're here.Steel picks give a metallic sound, plastic don't.You could have a very unique sound if you use these. Who finger picks anymore? If they do, is it a warm sound?Think TONE, people.
