OVERVIEW

A super assortment of innovative picks.

Dava's Combo 5-pack contains 1 each of the following models: Grip Tip Delrin, Jazz Grip Delrin, Master Control, Rock Control Delrin, and original Dava Control Nylon.

Grip Tip
Dava's Grip Tip picks are a revolution in design. Utilizing patented over-molding technology and multi-gauge flexibility, musicians not only get a velvety fell and unparalleled grip, but also the ability to change pick gauge "on the fly." Grip the tip for a hard gauge or release the flexible center section for a smooth rhythm feel.

Jazz Grip
Made from delrin, and in a size players are used to for a jazz pick, Dava Jazz Grip picks combine a sharp tip with a rubber grip. Now get the control a precision needed to perform the fastest runs without the fear of dropping your pick.

Master Control
Dava's patented Master Control pick is the only pick to combine a metal edge with plastic flexibility. From the lightest chimes to the heaviest metal and back again, this pick does it all. The nickel silver tip is made from the same material as guitar fret wire. If you bend notes you know how slippery frets get. It's the same for the pick, really smooth and really fast.

Rock Control
The Rock Control model offers the same multi-gauge features as the Master Control pick, only incorporating plastic tips made from delrin, celluloid and sharp "Points."

Control
Dava's original patented multi-gauge Control Pick is the first design to give musicians the ability to control pick gauge while playing. Simply grip the tip for a hard gauge or release the flexible center section for a soft gauge and gain instant dynamic control and gain instant dynamic control.

Whether you want to articulate parts of a lead solo or take a back seat during rhythm playing, it's all in the way you hold it.

Great for keeping control of the pick placement in relation to your fingers holding the pick to retain control of your timing when playing. I, like some other players, really get into my playing and my body heats up, causing my hands to sweat. Keeping a pick in the precise location between my fingers can assist my accuracy of timing. How tight or loose actually has a noticeable change in timing and also, I notice a change in the actual tone of playing notes/chords. I've searched and experimented with many picks over decades to find just the right thickness, shape, size and material for playing various types of songs of various genres. I have been changing the type and thickness of picks depending on the song in the past, to get just the right sound depending on the song, genre wise, era in which it came out, etc. I've played songs from classic rock, blues, modern rock, hard rock, metal from the 60's to modern music from present date, as well as originals. I am very impressed at how gripping these picks tighter gives a brighter tone, and a looser grip gives a heavier tone when attacking the strings, almost like I'd changed the settings on an amp's eq. I play both lead and rhythm and this has actually improved my playing drastically!

Sort of torn on these picks. The are not great, not not really bad.

Pro
- this is a good way to try out different types and sizes of Dava picks
- to some extent, gripping the picks tighter or looser does in fact change the sound. I don't think it's just psychological.
- there is no way you will drop these picks-especially the four with the black grip sections

Cons
- these are really expensive for what you get. One pick is a standard 3 for a buck nylon pick, so then you are paying over seven dineros for the four remaining picks. Why is this a problem...?
- these picks feel very cheap and extremely insubstantial to me. Obviously this is just my opinion, but none of the four picks feel like a buck and 3 quarters picks to me. Not at all. Feel like I got very little value for what I've paid.

Comments about Dava Combo 5-Pack (4 Medium, 1 Small):

I purchased the Dava Five pack(four medium one small) for a gift for my brother. he loves them they work verry well for all the ways he likes to play. "The jazz pic(small) strums efortlessly". The classic, of course. is by far the best pic for all guitars. The variation in thickness in the middle of these picks makes it so you can play various styles and strings with the same pick.great product over all!
    Great veriety and engineering.
    We love Dava!

Comments about Dava Combo 5-Pack (4 Medium, 1 Small):

Okay, I'm just a novice, but I have difficulty keeping picks straight while playing. The Dava picks are some of the best I've tried for being able to get a good grip. My personal favorite is the Rock Control with the red Delrin tip. It not only gives you a great grip, it greatly eliminates the "String Slap" noise you get with a lot of other picks.

Comments about Dava Combo 5-Pack (4 Medium, 1 Small):

Full disclosure: I already have enough picks to last the rest of my days (and if I recover the ones I have misplaced, even longer). That said, different picks really do change your approach and tone. I had a few of the original (solid blue-green) Dava control picks years ago and liked them but I like the rubber-gripped ones even better. The only downside is that you can only use one tip to pick as the rubber will get in the way (I generally prefer rounded triangle shaped picks by various manufacturers). They have enough flex if you need it but can firm up just by changing your grip. I was pleasantly surprised by the steel tipped one - nice tone and response without being harsh or overly bright and the tip is smooth enough not to catch. Of course you do have to remember you are using a metal tip before you get into the thrash zone! The other rubber ones are useful as well, I prefer the response of the larger red one but I like them all. And YES, they are hard to drop without being sticky.

It's always good to try new things, but I just didn't care for these. While the grip is very good, I just couldn't get any sound that I liked. I like a smooth, full sound from the pick, and these had an edgy attack.

This is a great pack to buy if you are looking at trying some different picks. The one with the metal tip was really cool and gave some crisp sounds to the strings, but it was too flexible and bends easy where you hold it. The small Jazz type pick was great, but very small, didn't like it. The red tip Delrin was about the best choice for me. They definitely are solid to hold. You don't have to worry about dropping any of them ever.

Dava has become my number one choice of picks, more comfortable for me than any other I have tried. The medium grip tips (top left in the picture, yellow) are my favorite. I had some of those already and decided to try this combo pack. I like all of them fairly well, but the grip tips are still what I will most likely keep using. This combo pack is a good way to find out which one is your favorite. Go for it!

Love the Dava Rock Control Nickel Plated. I had to sort through all of the picks to find the one I liked, but isn't that the point of a combo pack. Went ahead and ordered a whole pack of the Rock Control Nickel Plated. I had normally played with a 1.5 Dunlop Max Grip, but this Dava pick make me feel like I have more control, especially during leads.

I recommend the red and black ones ,not the red and black ones that have holes in the black part ,the other R & B ones . "Rock control " I think theyre called.Though all Dava picks feel great . I am not affiliated with the company .

You get 5 picks that are different shapes and sizes to experiment with, which is awesome for a beginner to just get a feel for whats out there. I really like the fact that they all have very good grip, especially compared to the cheapo picks that come with guitars. My personal fav is the small "jazz" pick. I'm going to order a pack of those. If you are considering them at all I say get them. And even if they aren't your favorite, if you play many different styles of music, i'm sure you will enjoy having them in your arsenal.
